#1 - I don't know where this guy is getting his info.

#2 - I don't think he's any relation to our Dr.

Oilyrags, Monday, 7 April 2008 15:45 (seventeen years ago)

BPRD
Criminal

and what with it being so light, I might spring for the Q&C tpb

Oilyrags, Monday, 7 April 2008 15:48 (seventeen years ago)

this one will eventually be k-reckt: http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/newreleases.txt

from the other list, howev,
SHOWCASE LEGION 2 YES

Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 April 2008 16:37 (seventeen years ago)

I am using the UPCOMING list, because I am impatient:

BPRD 1946 #4 (OF 5)
GOON #23 -- thinking about dropping this ;_;

WONDER WOMAN #19 -- thinking about thinking about dropping this ;_;

SUBURBAN GLAMOUR #4 (OF 4) -- cutesy teenish fairy-magic thing written and drawn (quite nicely) by the guy what drew Phonogram

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #556 -- in prep for Bachalo's first (second?) issue, I am shrinking WHERE'S WALDO pages to 1/4th their size and searching for his red-white shirted ass sans spyglass
FANTASTIC FOUR #556 -- self-satisfied smugsville; make with the non-retarded fun, plz; Human Torch getting fucky w/ super-villainess does not count, you ponce
LAST DEFENDERS #2 (OF 6) -- If DC used Nightwing as sparingly as Marvel uses Nighthawk, Chuck Dixon would've gotten a loss less work in the 90s.
NOVA #12 -- totally readable space boggins by Abnett & Lanning; am looking forward to their take on ROCKET RACCOON'S GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
WOLVERINE #64 -- seriously, this is pretty great (a load better than Jason Aaron's Grindhousey take on Ghost Rider, which isn't that bad either)

OTM, this book is throatpunchable now.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 7 April 2008 17:15 (seventeen years ago)

The upcoming cover w/ DOOM! looking all blowed-up and knackered is my only hope right now, and if the upcoming issue is more of what's been, I might not make it that far.

David R., Monday, 7 April 2008 17:23 (seventeen years ago)

from the upcoming list, only BPRD and Showcase Legion, and Young Liars, but I'll drop it. Really.

Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 April 2008 18:22 (seventeen years ago)

COUNTDOWN

balls, Monday, 7 April 2008 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

LIAR

David R., Monday, 7 April 2008 18:55 (seventeen years ago)

Oh shit forgot about CRIMINAL!

David R., Monday, 7 April 2008 18:56 (seventeen years ago)

BPRD - 1946: "You don't need eyes to see if someone's got a heart of glass..."
PUNISHER MAX: Frank Castle - c'est moi!

AND PROBABLY SOMETHING ELSE, I DUNNO...

R Baez, Monday, 7 April 2008 20:09 (seventeen years ago)

SERENITY BETTER DAYS #2
WONDER WOMAN #19
PAX ROMANA #3: Greatest Comic EVER.
FANTASTIC FOUR #556
WOLVERINE #64

Light week. And not much that I'm excited for in it. (Except Pax Romana.)

Mordy, Monday, 7 April 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)

the diamond list is up, no Showcase Legion. I'm staying home this week.

Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 April 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

just Criminal for me

Jordan, Monday, 7 April 2008 20:26 (seventeen years ago)

daver i've been reading countdown (and most weeks ONLY countdown whatup) for like two months now.

balls, Monday, 7 April 2008 21:53 (seventeen years ago)

aw dude

David R., Monday, 7 April 2008 21:56 (seventeen years ago)

For me:

SHOWCASE PRESENTS SUPERMAN FAMILY VOL. 2 TP
CRIMINAL 2 #2
COMPLETE PEANUTS 1967-1968 HC
HALL OF BEST KNOWLEDGE SC
THE RABBI'S CAT VOL. 2 HC

I would totally be skewing toward pamphlets if there were more pamphlets I liked right now.

Douglas, Monday, 7 April 2008 22:40 (seventeen years ago)

What is up with that Superman Family Showcase??? I already have Vol 2!!!

Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 April 2008 22:42 (seventeen years ago)

Booster Gold #8
Amazing Spider-Man #556
Criminal 2 #2
Last Defenders #2 - first one was the best book that week
Nova #12

Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 01:06 (seventeen years ago)

Just Criminal, although I will make sad eyes at Rabbi's Cat 2, which I plainly can't afford.

Chuck_Tatum, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 02:05 (seventeen years ago)

Rabbi's Cat 2 is easily already my favorite graphic novel of 2008. Just do what I do with expensive hardcovers - find a cozy spot in B&N near the Bible section and sit down with a stack of books.

Mordy, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 02:50 (seventeen years ago)

BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #16- Last issue of The Wrath storyline, I think this has been a pretty good one.
GREEN LANTERN CORPS #23- I suppose more Alpha Lantern stuff in this one. Last issue was kind of unique in that Guy, Kyle nor Kilowog really were apart of it at all, which means I don't know the characters much at all. I think Katma Tui or the son of that guy was in the last issue, either way the dude with the big eyes and bird beak but even the new lanterns that the first few arcs circled around were not present much.

I will probably either get the new DMZ trade or maybe a Hellblazer book.

earlnash, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 03:40 (seventeen years ago)

Hedge Knight Vol 2 #6

AND THAT ALONE.
I dunno if that makes me better or worse than the rest of you nerds.

ian, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 03:52 (seventeen years ago)

Wow, absolutely nothing for me this week.

Mr. Perpetua, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 11:51 (seventeen years ago)

Those of you not picking up BPRD: 1946 this week are teh fail.

rogermexico., Wednesday, 9 April 2008 08:10 (seventeen years ago)

IN A VEIN SIMILAR TO MR. MEXICO'S POST:

And I alone hoist the Ennis/Punisher flag (of our fathers, as it were).

R Baez, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:41 (seventeen years ago)

And Echo #2 apparently, which I didn't realize came out this week until... well... today.

Mordy, Thursday, 10 April 2008 22:18 (seventeen years ago)

I am not teh fail.

Dr. Superman, Friday, 11 April 2008 02:36 (seventeen years ago)

Except that I am still teh fail for still buying Superman Confidential despite the glaring lack of Darwyn Cooke.

Dr. Superman, Friday, 11 April 2008 02:38 (seventeen years ago)

is it a controversial opinion to have that BPRD/hellboy/the whole franchise really does nothing for me? and it's not like i haven't tried! i've read several hellboy trades, i bought all of Lobster Johnson, and i've tried to get on the BPRD boat several times. gorgeous art, decent writing, but it doesn't click for me.

ian, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:04 (seventeen years ago)

does controversial mean 'RONG'?

jk, its all just strokes and folks, right?

Oilyrags, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:25 (seventeen years ago)

i got criminal today too, and the comics journal, and doc sleepless, in addition to hedge knight. i also got an issue of vietch/alacala's swamp thing and some 70s dr strange from a dude on the street.

ian, Friday, 11 April 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

"ups...weed...fry...bronze age marvel...ups...weed..."

Oilyrags, Friday, 11 April 2008 19:41 (seventeen years ago)

HAHA. Diversification is key for the successful businessman.

scampering alpaca, Friday, 11 April 2008 19:53 (seventeen years ago)

leaving a bar in manhattan on wednesday, got to pass a fellow sneakily whispering at all who passed: "Two dollars a shot, c'mon, two dollars a shot." the real good stuff, i'm sure.

ian, Friday, 11 April 2008 21:17 (seventeen years ago)
