Mordy, Monday, 21 April 2008 23:41 (seventeen years ago)

If you wanna ship - then ship me.

Look's like no good comics this month, apart maybe from the GM Batman.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 12:23 (seventeen years ago)

> BACCHUS BANQUET CARD GAME $20.00

Whuh?

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 12:25 (seventeen years ago)

I assume it is this:

Bacchus' Banquet - The Glory & Gluttony of Rome

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 14:08 (seventeen years ago)

> Art:Chris McGloughlin

$20 I get to keep, then.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 14:18 (seventeen years ago)

BATMAN #675
CHECKMATE #25
X-MEN FIRST CLASS #11

HULK VS HERCULES WHEN TITANS COLLIDE: so what is this, then? new stuff? some reason I assumed it was a reprint of some sort, like those Countdown specials DC's been cranking out.

Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's new stuff padded out w/ old stuff to justify a $4 price tag. But the new stuff is by the regular Hulk / Herc (writer) team (I think)!

Can I get a quick & dirty on how Rucka's Checkmate ended up? Slogged through the tedious first arc, liked the Cobra-centric 2nd arc, fell into slog soon after, then cut bait just before the Titans x-over happened. (NB: I might be confusing things a tad.)

David R., Tuesday, 22 April 2008 14:55 (seventeen years ago)

Superman-Batman #47
JLA #20
Batman #675
Mighty Avengers #12
Hulk #3
Doktor Sleepless #4, #5, & #6

I also got runs of Kurt Busiek on Iron Man 1-11 and Avengers 1-10 for $8 bucks and $7 bucks. My shop rocks for putting together this kind of stuff.

I also got a 5-issue miniseries called Angeltown out of the .50 cent boxes.

Countdown #1: OMG JIMMY OLSEN IS THE NEW DARKSEID!

Dr. Superman, Thursday, 24 April 2008 05:42 (seventeen years ago)

JUST KIDDING. Everybody mopes around at the Palmer residence (there isn't even a giant pile of unopened mail, wtf???) and then they form a new SUPERTEAM of Monitor-Monitors, made up of all the shitty characters from Countdown! Maybe they can meet up with Infinity Inc and Judd Winick's new Titans and the ALL-NEW Batman & the Outsiders and they can have a gigantic shitty crossover that nobody cares about!

Dr. Superman, Thursday, 24 April 2008 05:45 (seventeen years ago)

I thought they just did that.

David R., Thursday, 24 April 2008 13:04 (seventeen years ago)

Hey - that Checkmate crossover was w/ Winick's Outsiders, and it was 50% awful, 50% okay-to-good. Guess who wrote which halves. After that was Fall of the Wall, which climaxed in a heated (and Martian telepathy-aided, I believe) closed-door political scuffle at the UN, resulting in Waller being forced out. I think there was some tie-in to Salvation Run there, but it was minor and made no sense, so whatever. And then the final arc has continued / finished the Kobra stuff from early on. I will reserve final judgement until I read #25. Oh yeah there was also a two-parter about great forgotten women of French history.

Overall it's been a pretty enjoyable politico-espionage thing that is smart enough on the surface to not insult your intelligence too much. Don't really spend too much time thinking about it, though. So, y'know, as good as any Tom Clancy book, but with a girl who turns into a giant green flame instead of Anne Archer.

Garrett Martin, Thursday, 24 April 2008 13:41 (seventeen years ago)

Did anyone read that big Exiles/Excalibur crossover that nobody cared about?

Mordy, Thursday, 24 April 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)

Batman and Thor.
