As far as I know, Martha and Thomas Wayne haven't clawed their way out of the grave either.

But here's the new Flash, same as the old Flash.
WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!

Mr. & Mrs. Wayne returning would be kind of hilarious. "Oh. Guess I'm done here!" sez Bruce.
That, or he'd be all, "Look what I've been doing in memory of you!" And they'd be all hyper-critical and Batman would become really self-conscious and awkward. Which kinda relates to my theory that orphaned heroes are bigger badasses because they don't have as many daddy issues, etc.

man, how awesome would it be if that was the plot of Batman RIP?

No Chubby da Choona.
But there's still time...

Don't forget Flash's 70s JLA buddies the Greens (originally Greenbaum), Lantern and Arrow.

"Who am I? I'm the goddamn Batman."
"Watch your mouth, boy, or I'll wash it out with SOAP!"

Slightly speaking of which, the print version of this story included a beautiful panel of Superman socking it, non-Aryan style, to Hitler.

Thunderbird from the seventies X-Men has stayed dead, hasn't he? Probably the only X-Men who has died and never come back.
― Tuomas, Saturday, 3 May 2008 08:54 (sixteen years ago) link
yeah, there's not much reason to being him back, as Claremont and Cockrum must have realized that Wolverine filled the "pissed-off" post, and so he had no other function other than to be killed off…
I wonder if, say, Wolverine got the axe instead, then T-Bird would have become Marvel's most significant breakout character of the past thirty years…

Also Warpath's still around right? I think I remember them being related or something, but it's been about 15 years since I read X-Force 4 or whatever it was

Could be, I haven't followed X-books in many, many years.

Warpath has been an active member of the X-Men (and X-Force) for the past few years. He wears a similar costume to Thunderbird, who is NOT back from the dead.
― Dr. Perpetua, Wednesday, 17 September 2008 19:48 (sixteen years ago) link
Warpath is Thunderbird's younger brother. He showed up in the original New Mutants run and was a founding member of X-Force.
