I didn't get my decoder ring or something, Metal Men is fucking thick

AJ Styles, Monday, 5 May 2008 19:23 (seventeen years ago)

If anyone figures out how to decode it, I'm happy to listen. But hey, I've come this far I may as well finish up.

Oilyrags, Monday, 5 May 2008 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

R Baez, I always like your shipping-thread titles...

For me:
ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #11--reeeally? Oh, hell, I suppose I'm converted now.
DC UNIVERSE SPECIAL JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA--five bucks for reprints of Final Crisis background, not bad
QUESTION TP VOL 02 POISONED GROUND--some of the only issues I haven't already read
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1--with trepidation
IRON MAN: VIVA LAS VEGAS #1--ditto, although I liked the movie
MIGHTY AVENGERS #13--think the plot might advance this time? fingers crossed!
OMEGA THE UNKNOWN #8--man, I just love that Marvel is even publishing this
SECRET INVASION #2--what's up with the SW6 Avengers?
24 x 2--David Chelsea's 24-hour comics--I actually have this already, haven't read it yet
AMOR Y COHETES SC--because I will buy this stuff no matter how many times they repackage it
KAPUT & ZOSKY GN--hey, it's Trondheim

Douglas, Monday, 5 May 2008 19:43 (seventeen years ago)

ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #11
AMERICAN SPLENDOR SEASON TWO #2
DETECTIVE COMICS #844
HOUSE OF MYSTERY #1 (Worth a Willingham try?)
CABLE #3
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 (Fraction is writing this?)
IRON MAN VIVA LAS VEGAS #1 (I want the Skrully variation!)
LOGAN #3
MIGHTY AVENGERS #13
PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #19 (I want the Skrully variation!)
SECRET INVASION #2
THUNDERBOLTS REASON IN MADNESS (What is this?)
X-FACTOR QUICK AND DEAD (What is this?)
YOUNG X-MEN #2 (What is this? Oh wait, I know what this is.)
BOYS #18

Of course, maybe I'll just skip this week and play GTA IV instead.

Mordy, Monday, 5 May 2008 19:44 (seventeen years ago)

I guess I want that Amor Y Cohetes thing, too, but I bet I can't afford it this go round.

Oilyrags, Monday, 5 May 2008 19:48 (seventeen years ago)

IRON MAN VIVA LAS VEGAS #1

wait is this real

AJ Styles, Monday, 5 May 2008 20:21 (seventeen years ago)

Is very real. Written by the director of the flick (Jon Favreau), drawn by the guy that illustrated Warren Ellis' title-reboot arc & worked on designing the movie suit (Adi Granov). Am avoiding like 24-hour-buffet because the preview put me off it, and I buy enough middling crap as is. Will change opinion if ILC goes wowie zowie, because I'm easy.

David R., Monday, 5 May 2008 20:41 (seventeen years ago)

Very very interested in David Chelsea 24hr comics, very very unlikely I will ever see a copy.

FEB084113 NICOLAS CAGES VOODOO CHILD HC $29.99

Did Sienkiewicz do this one too?

energy flash gordon, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 01:01 (seventeen years ago)

ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #11- Boy this one has been waiting for a while for an ending, I still choke up at $4.99 for an annual.
DETECTIVE COMICS #844
AVENGERS INVADERS #1 (OF 12)- I liked the Justice miniseries and it sounds like it could be fun.
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1- maybe...

Summertime sucker bets...
DC UNIVERSE SPECIAL JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA -- maybe, I will have to check this one out.

SECRET INVASION #2 - I read about the first ten pages of #1 in the store and got hooked. I don't read as much Marvel, but I did pickup the first couple of crossovers.

MIGHTY AVENGERS #13 SI- I might just read this one quick off the stand.

NEW AVENGERS ILLUMINATI TP- I'd like to read this one once, but I don't know about actually buying it.

earlnash, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 04:05 (seventeen years ago)

Aaugh the Gary Panter Picturebox two-volume thing is out and it's $95! That's a lot of plasma...!

Douglas, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 06:28 (seventeen years ago)

NEW AVENGERS ILLUMINATI TP- I'd like to read this one once, but I don't know about actually buying it.

GRACIAS, DOUGLAS!

R Baez, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)

Buffy, Infinity Inc, X-Factor, Secret Invasion, Mighty Avengers, Logan, Omega The Unknown, and who knows, maybe I'll give that new Fraction/Larocca Iron Man a shot. Still haven't seen the movie, though.

Mr. Perpetua, Wednesday, 7 May 2008 00:45 (seventeen years ago)

Fraction Iron Man??? Worth a look, I guess. THough, fuck, do I wanna look like the guy who's only into it because the movie is awesome??? (wait a minute, am I worried about looking cool at a comic shop???)

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 7 May 2008 05:29 (seventeen years ago)

You should be!

David R., Wednesday, 7 May 2008 12:51 (seventeen years ago)

O hay, I don't know if anyone here is interested, but the Aztek trade also came out today, eleven years after the fact.
