Fuck knows why I remember this, but in one Grant Morrison issue of Animal Man the Mirror Man (I think) calls Buddy "a refugee toley-poker from Kelvinside".

Kelvinside = posh area of Glasgow, probably the largest gay contingent, but certainly one of the most faux-middle class (bearing in mind that incarnation of Mirror Master's background, he'd undoubtedly be most disparaging about the middle classes)

That said, the thing to remember is that 'poof' (or questioning anybody's sexuality at all in an insulting way) is a very, very mild insult in Scotland - not much worse than 'idiot', frankly.

"Fuck" has appeared at least once, in a Button man serial if I remember rightly.
