SPOILER ALERT:

Anybody see that twist ending coming? Shockingly, I totally didn't.

Is #3 out? Shit, my local shop didn't get it in this week...

WHERE ARE THE COCKFARMING SPOILERS THEN?

Is it fun-hating to want to know the twist endings in comics you've not actually heard of?

Having got it yesterday... if I hadn't known there was a twist ending, I probably wouldn't have got it. But knowing there was... fairly obvious.

For Tom's benefit, having built up for the two previous issues (and practically all the third) that the kid is the Messiah, Millar reveals his dad is actually the devil. It ends with him as PUSA, about to go to the Holy Land to fight the battle of the Apocalypse, aparently on the same side as Jesus.

Have you all read Millar's very first ever comic series? Saviour, as edited by me, and starring the Antichrist (as the world's most adored superhero) and Christ (as a loner treated with contempt by everyone). It's interesting to see him partly revisiting his earliest themes.

i hated this so much, i mean i lvoed the comic, how sweet and gentle and confusing and ambigou and refusing to engage in easy answers, and then all of a sudden he takes the most obvious route possible.

Admittedly it was one of those twists that was primarily enjoyable in terms of sheer audacity... especially when he beats the reader over the head with the five cocks... but I'm looking forward to the next 3-issue-r featuring the actual Jesus and the confrontation between the two in the one after that. Maybe that makes me a sucker for punishment - I don't know...
