ILX can't help... maybe you can?

Right - can somebody go to this link and tell me if they can see the image?

Also, does anybody know anything about remote-linking to Yahoo Briefcase folders and the possible consequences thereof? Tripod are about to rip my blog apart.

I can't see the image. I would also imagine that linking to images in Yahoo Briefcase folders might not work for some reason or other. It might be a better idea to use that Photobucket thing.

Tried that. They've got this thing where you can only sign up between 7 and 9 pm UK time, which makes it slightly too late now... I'm having a look at photoisland, but it might have the same problems as Yahoo.

Apologies for using ILC as a test bed like this, but this does count as comics and I really do need the help.

The Pointer? I can see that...

Aces. It'll mean a lot of work tonight, but - knock wood - you'll all be getting your daily dose of Reader after all.

Thanks a lot for putting up with me here. I'm not sure after my experiences tonight that I'll be spending much time on ILX in the future, but ILC remains stocked with perfect gentlemen.

Vic: the free & easy way! Sign up for Geocities, upload your pic, and rename it to from whatever.jpg or whatever.gif to whatever.txt. And then use the usual IMG SRC tag as you would with pics.

That's be as work-intensive as the method I'm using now... although if that'd take care of the bandwidth-guzzling issues Tripod UK have with me, it's a thought for the future.

Right now I'm using something called TheImageHosting, which seems specially designed for Ebay use, and for blogs like mine that use a lot of images. We'll see how it goes. Uploading takes a tenth of the time that Tripod did, which means I should be all done in another hour or so.

The curse of The Reader strikes again.

If you want to just FTP them to the FT server that would be fine and you don't have to fannydangle around with commercial image hosting servers. I will email.

I take your point about ILE by the way.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

re: Geocities -- 15 MB of storage space, and no bandwidth issues at all. (At least that I've experienced.) Of course there are probably better avenues, though changing the file extension isn't all that labor-intensive to with which begin.

Mr. Tony Plow (Leee), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha...I can see it. :>

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 20:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I've got potentially infinite space with the current arrangement, but should the fine people at The Image Hosting FAIL me, I'll go straight to Geocities.

Vic Fluro, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 21:17 (twenty-one years ago)

For what it's worth Vic, having found the thread on ILE I felt compelled to tell Jon W what an utter prick he was being.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I should have used the search function, but I wanted to talk to a human about it rather than search through a google-like repository of information. I should have made that clearer at the time.

It's a shame cos I used to be quite proud of how polite and friendly the place was (OK we were never friendly enough for EVERYONE but hey) - still the little boards are keeping the flame alive.

First one works for me.

It's Ditkolicious!
