Invisible Airplanes: C/D?

I was rereading the New Frontier last night, and there's a scene in it where Wonder Woman shows up in her Invisible Plane and that got me thinking...WTF!?!?
Probably the reasoning behind it is that the power of flight was not yet as acceptable as it would soon become (remember, Superman was originally just a leaper), and the idea of hiding Wondy's gams beneath all the fuselage and stuff was just counter to the concept of having a shapely dame in short pants, and also, planes are hard to draw.

What are some of the other goofy comic book things that are a combination of "hey, neat idea" and "geez, this'll make drawing it less difficult"?

By this reasoning why haven't there been more superheroes with invisible feet?

How about The Question? A neat character design, AND a neat way to avoid having to draw facial expressions!

How about the notion of spandex, which allows artists to draw nakked women who have brightly colored patterned skin?

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Friday, 8 October 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

By gar, not as corking as seeing them gams, I'll admit!

"I'm flying" gesture more difficult for Wonder Women at fancy-dress parties as you have to pretend to be in a plane. MAKE NOTE.
