Fort Thunder - Classic or Dud

Inspired by me getting the latest ish of Paper Rodeo the other day. Comics made in and related to the Fort has made me as excited about the potential of underground comics since I first discovered Crumb. Stuff like Teratoid Heights, the comic newspaper Paper Rodeo and the countless minis scanned in and made available on Paper Rad and the Fort Thunder memorial website (click on "cmx") are usually fascinating and thrilling reads.

There's something kind of primal about it - I recently read an article somewhere on the net that claimed something along the lines of "Fort Thunder were trying to make comics as exciting as they were when you read them as a kid" and I'd agree with that, and also add that they succeeded. They're sometimes full of 80's child-related paraphernalia (video games, toys, TV shows, cartoons, movies, corporate mascots and of course comics) but mangled up and made alien, made more interesting and entertaining than the original cartoons could be (check out "Pizza Party" on Paper Rad - 80's toys go neo-psychledelic!)

So obviously, I think it's classic. But what do the denizens of ILC think?

Does Paper Rad involve more than one guy? I've really liked some of the Paper Rad animation and multimedia stuff that I've seen, but the comics that I've read from them/him haven't impressed me too much.

I think Paper Rad is run by Ben Jones, who does the Gumby Animations and stuff (it looks like him anyway). I'm not sure if anyone else is involved myself...
