That's http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/262.jpg with an i in front to make it an image. Just change the number to get the prog needed!

(The answer to the question on the cover is... NO!)

not a favourite, but it is the original (to my mind) GREAT NEWS FOR ALL OUR READERS. Prog 86:

How long before Vic Fluro gets out the giant scorpians?

Wooden (Wooden), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

This one's pretty striking:

(It's always lots of fun pouring through the archives)

Have made contact with alien's facial area...
Composition: FLESH!
Conclusion: EDIBLE!

This thread only proves my hypothesis that all the best 2KAD covers are in the first 200 or so.

Vic Fluro, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Great things about that one:

1) The art is so non-cartoony! (In contrast to old Superman covers of similar ridiculousness.)

2) It determines the composition of the facial area is FLESH. What are the other options? Now I want to read the story to find out!

Vic Fluro, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck! How do you do images?

Vic Fluro, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 19:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i + http://theaddress (without the + or the spaces around it)

or

open-pointy-bracket img src="put the address in quotes" close-pointy-bracket

(One of them only works for images below a certain size now or something. Or both of them, maybe. I'm not sure.)

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Seems less funny now.

The "i" technique works on pictures up to 500 X 500 resolution, I think, & is a sub for the pointy-bracket method. If it's a huge pic, the best thing to do is implement the pointy bracket methodology, but substitute "A HREF=" for "IMG SRC=".

IS funny, Vic.

I was always very frond of this one for personal reasons:

Also this one:

was on a newsagent shelf long before I was old enough to buy comics without my parents noticing. And when I finally read it, it was a Judge Dredd story WITHOUT JUDGE DREDD! But did have a bloke with a big nose.

I thought Vic Fluro invented disco dancing Rogue Trooper.

I've never been able to figure out the image posting thing, but if someone were able to post a picture of the cover of Prog 387, I would be most grateful. (The start of the Nemesis Gothic Empire story...)

How about that for quick service?

Wooden (Wooden), Friday, 5 November 2004 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, that's actually even nicer than I remember it! Thanks, Wooden!

That Rogue Trooper disco one is hilariously bad. I'd somehow completely forgotten that one.

M Carty (mj_c), Friday, 5 November 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I like how Fort Neuro got disco fever a good five years after the rest of the world. It must have been due to those darstardly Norts blocking the funk supply lines.
