Coolness: Unicron > Death Star > Galactus
Who would win: Unicron > Death Star ; Galactus > Death Sta;

But who wins: Unicron vs. Galactus

I like the Sun Eater.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 09:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I was gonna say Unicron before I discovered he can easily be pwn3d by a small child:

Does Unicron EAT planets?

No heralds of Unicron wielding cosmic power and running around the universe -> Galactus wins.

Unicron is anagram for Unicorn, Galactus is anagram for A Slag Cut -> Galactus wins.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

There's been a Galactus v. Ego The Living Planet throwdown, right?

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Galactus has the bigger rep in terms of planet eating, he's been around the block.

Unicron on the other hand, is more of a young pretender, he's only devoured a few galaxies as far as I'm aware, plus he's quite gullable.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Does Galactus like hot sauce?

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably.

Oh, but Galactus does have a silly helmet, could easily be struck by lightening.

Unicron does have a cool metal dude beard.

This is getting difficult.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Why has no one made the Galactus Cookbook?

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow! Great idea, pitch it to Stan Lee!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Galactus is protecting us from the fucking Eternals man....

Does John Coltrane Dream of a Merry-go-round? (ex machina), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Those damn Eternals! With their ... uh ... Greek-sounding names ... and silly haircuts!

There had to have been an Ego vs Galactus dealie -- probably in Silver Surfer if not FF? They're both Kirby creations, aren't they? (I know Galactus is, obviously, but where did Ego first show up? FF, Captain Marvel, Thor?)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Wasn't Unicron like a God of Darkness or something, trapped inside a planet? Whereas Galactus, while admittedly super-tough, isn't exactly on the divine level. I say Unicron wins!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 09:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Ego first showed up in Thor, I believe.

You'd think that an Ego/Galactus matchup would be a natural. Though it seems to me that Galactus is at a distinct disadvantage when facing opponents who can actually *move around*.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Galactus is beyond or equivalent to divine, unless they've undone that.

And yeah, the moving around would be what would make it a great story! This should be a miniseries or one-shot unto itself, if it hasn't been done before.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

It's those damn kidneys.

COMING SOON FROM MARVEL COMICS:

GALACTUS VS. EGO: DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD #1 (of 4ish)
Evan Dorkin (W)
Jim Woodring (P)

GUESS STARRING THE IMPOSSIBLE MAN, THE SKRULLS, THE KREE, AND FRED HEMBECK!

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Have them stuck on a deserted island, and they get so hungry that they look at each other and Ego imagines Galactus as a giant hot dog, while Galactus imagines Ego as a giant living planet.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

"Deserted island" = Eternity's summer home in Limbo.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Galactus eats Ego, and sits contented for a moment before his face screws up and he goes, "BLEECCHH! That wasn't Ego, it was CLAYFACE!"

*wah wah wah*

*laugh track*

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Best Marvel / DC crossover EVER!

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm glad I read the rundown of Hush on the other thread! Proof that ILC works.

http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/g/galactus.htm

Galactus is only 28 feet tall? Unicron is like uhhhhh maybe 1/3rd the size of Cybertron. Using the known size Transformers next to him, we could get an estimate at his height and a rough estimate at the size of Cybertron.

My guess is that Cybertron is on the same order of magnitude as Death Star I.

I'll take Dark Phoenix over all comers, if only for her sash:

What if it was Galactus what blowed up Krypton? What about that? Huh? Huh? What about it?

Huk-L, Wednesday, 17 November 2004 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I shudder to think what some guy that had a sizable hand in shaping the FF & Superman would do with that concept right now.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 20:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Galactus eats planets, though! Size does not intimidate him. And he could make all the Autobots his heralds and have an army of robot Silver Surfers to protect him.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 21:08 (twenty-one years ago)

In other words, Galactus knows cosmic judo.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

In some of the transformers mythos, Unicron is a extradimensional being....

Sorry to divert, but why is Ferro Lad suddenly waving around two pieces of a girder in that Sun-Eater page?

kit brash (kit brash), Sunday, 21 November 2004 01:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I think he's breaking a girder in half to demonstrate his INCREDIBLE STRENGTH and RASH NATURE.

Wooden (Wooden), Sunday, 21 November 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh. I guess he keeps one lying around the meeting room for just that purpose.

Has anyone else read the Galactus vs. Darkseid one-shot by John Byrne? That was pretty good, especially since Byrne was smart enough not to mix any superheroes to the story and just focus on the Big G and Big D.
