John Byrne and Gail Simone on Action Comics

See Newsarama for interviewage where Byrne says, in regards to working on three monthly titles:

“For me that's not a heavy workload,” Byrne said. “That's about normal.  Without any effort I have usually done three pages of full pencils per day."

Uh, yeah, we noticed.

He might do better w/ another inker, though, and the inker they have on board (Nelson DeCastro) might be the right guy to soften Byrne's brusque edges. Also, I think he's only penciling on these 3 books.

Suffice it to say that I am torn between the good of this story (Ms. Simone) & the not-so-good (take a guess).

Yeah, if Byrne has a good inker, he's okay. And it's not like I'm gonna read a Superman comic anyway, so what do I care?

Whoops - he's penciling & writing 1, penciling & plotting a 2nd, and only penciling a 3rd.

Huk-L, your name DEMANDS you show some love to Le Boy Scout!

It's really amazing how much Byrne has destroyed any of the good will that comics fans used to have for him.

I imagine he'd get a free pass on most of his curmudgeonly misanthropic shenanigans if his art (& writing) didn't take a nosedive after Next Men (or whenever you want to set your break point). If I never see him use a trapezoidal panel-shape again, it'll be too soon for 50 lifetimes.

Well, yeah. Um, actually, I prefer Jor-El to Kal-El. No, I dig Superman, but mostly in theory rather than practice. At this point I'm more likely to buy a Superman solo book than a Batman solo book, so there.
(But he's no Green Arrow)
