It's pretty good! A nice mix of Morrison plotlines & Whedon camraderie. A shame about Greg Land's art (not my thing), but otherwise, it's pretty good! (According to The X-Axis, this series is so far the only X-title that actually seems to acknowledge - and possibly understand - Grant Morrison's work on the franchise. Bonus!)

I think that Joss Whedon certainly understood Morrison's run. He's been really good at keeping the characterization of Henry, Scott, and Emma consistent. I particularly appreciated the bit in the most recent issue of Astonishing X-Men with Scott going on about how the media are against the X-Men and always will be, etc, etc, which ties in with his newly disillusioned view of human/mutant relations in Assault On Weapon Plus.

I'd prefer subsequent X-Men writers to be more like Whedon and focus on subtlety and character rather than offer pedantic retreads of the more esoteric elements of Grant's run. It is extremely annoying how Marvel has dealt with the issue of Xorn and Magneto, though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Whedon does totally get it, I don't know what I was thinking - I should've said, "ONE OF the only X-titles".
