I've driven myself insane, slogging through the ILC Archives, but I can't find it. Was it Leeeee who kept talking about this? I think I may have found it.

That is the one. Hellboy isn't actually in it, but it's in every other way a prototypical Hellboy story.

But there was a Hellboy/Batman/Starman crossover miniseries a couple of years back. No idea if it was actually good or not, as it's one of the few Hellboy books I haven't actually read.
