My every molecule strains to call this one as dud. The first DC comic I bought was a Roy Thomas ALL-STAR SQUADRON and I assumed that all DC stuff was dry as dust and half as interesting, and avoided the company from then on. Admittedly giving Roy T the keys to one's golden age properties is like putting a foot fetishist in charge of a shoe factory - his Avengers run though is often spoken of with approval so maybe he wasn't all bad???

Despite that, I will stand by his late 80s / early 90s Dr. Strange run (due in no small part, again, of course, to the art).

As well from the Avengers (tho' NOT the dreary Kree-Skrull war!) and X-Men, I'm quite fond of some mid-70s Fantastic Fours that Roy wrote, illustrated by Perez and J. Buscema - issue 166 (i think) has one of the all-time great Hulk stories
