I'll take Orz nine times out of ten.
Anybody remember Denise Wohl? Brief Marvel career in the 1970s, very distinct style. Taller than usual ascenders in her capital letters -- I liked her work a lot.

Ha -- Orz vs. Klein is like the Jeter / A-Rod of letterer conflicts.

I laffed, a little, but now could you expand on that a little?

Well, it's totally bullshit (obv), but I was thinking of Orz as the great-yet-overrated letterer, while Klein was the GOAT-yet-unappreciated letterer.
I'm reading Walt Simonson's Orion and totally crushing on John Workman's, um, work. SKATHAKOOM & all that.

Dave Sim keeps both of these guys in his back pocket. Same pocket!

Great article (w/ loads of samples) abt the undisputed champ of comic bk logo design (and Todd Klein's acknowledged hero):

Ken Bruzenak deserves some props for the PAPPAOOMOWWOW!!!! stuff in American Flagg! He does some really neat tricks on that comic.

Ward, that site's down. ;_;
Yeah, Bruzenak on Flagg was great. I like Workman, but he loses major points for that awful "Adventures of Roma" bullcrap he wrote and drew in Dark Horse Presents.
I wonder if it ever grates on Sim that he's won as many awards for his lettering as he ever did for his writing and art. (Note: I haven't gone back to check and see if this is actually true.)
