FINAL CRISIS RAGE OF THE RED LANTERNS #1: Very psyched for this!
SUPERMAN #681: Um, cause I like Action Comics and Johns earned credit on crossovers from Sinestro Corps?
SWORD #12
ASTONISHING X-MEN GHOST BOXES #1: UH, what is this? Is Ellis writing it? (Not that Ellis is a recommendation on an X-Men book at this point.)
INCREDIBLE HERCULES #122
SECRET INVASION THOR #3: Best SI crossover?
THOR #11
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #3: I'm prepared for cuteness!
WOLVERINE FIRST CLASS #8: I'm prepared for Kitty!

And, uh, yeah, some of those other X-Titles (that I'm too embarrassed to list at this point).

REX LIBRIS #13: Is this an annual now? (At least it's not a bicentennial, like Zero Killer.)

Also, where is everyone? ILC hasn't been updated in two days?

James Morrison, Monday, 27 October 2008 10:50 (sixteen years ago) link

Yes, apart from nextwave, Thunderbolts, Planetary, Desolation Jones, Freak Angels and newuniversal, he's really gone to shit over the last few years.

Andrew Farrell, Monday, 27 October 2008 11:00 (sixteen years ago) link

Don't forget Fell as well. And Doktor Sleepless isn't bad - familiar Ellis tropes, but decent.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 27 October 2008 11:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Yes, AXM: Ghost Boxes is Warren Ellis. The art is by Alan David and Adi Granov, which uh, seems like a really mismatched pair to me.

I'm getting:

Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes
SI: X-Men
RAGE OF THE RED LANTERNS -- yesyesyes
Superman -- let's see how Robinson does with New Krypton. At the very least, the art will be great.
Spike

and maybe/probably the new printing of Kill Yr Boyfriend because it's one of my favorite comics ever and my copy from the early 90s is in tatters. Seriously, the cover is barely hanging on.

Final Crisis Rage of the Red Lanterns
Kill Your Boyfriend - rad. never owned this.
Amazing Spider-Man
Amazing Spider-Man Annual
Incredible Hercules
X-Men First Class Giant Size Special

I'm not trusting anything until I see the final Diamond list...

I think I get to skip a week! I could use the break, too.

Just Rage of the Red Lanterns for me, although it looks a bit, er, EXTREME FINAL CRISIS.

Mine fell off a long time ago, dude - TOO MUCH LOVE.

Anyway:

HELLBOY: IN THE CHAPEL OF MOLOCH
SECRET INVASION: THOR
and probably nothin' else.

The Diamond list is up now at http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/newreleases.txt .

For me:

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL HC--collecting Gilbert Hernandez's creeeeepy serial
FINAL CRISIS: RAGE OF THE RED LANTERNS--mmm, pukey!
INCREDIBLE HERCULES #122--anything with Amadeus Cho in it is OK by me
ACME NOVELTY LIBRARY #19--seems to have settled into a once-a-year rhythm
OR ELSE #5--actually I've read this already and it's flat-out amazing, as usual

How does that AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL get numbered #1, anyway?

Douglas, Monday, 27 October 2008 22:15 (sixteen years ago) link

SOLOMON KANE #2 (OF 5)- I wanted the first issue as I thought the Cassaday cover on the first one was really cool. I thought it was a real good read. The artwork and colors on the book were really nice and fit the story perfect.
SUPERMAN #681 NEW KRYPTON (AKA SUPERMAN RIP)- I was kind of getting cold feet on New Krypton, as the end of the Brainiac story was not as hot as the start, but seeing that it really is just a big prologue with the things setup in the two recent specials, it looks to be a pretty big setup. You got Lex Luthor working for Thunderbolt Ross (err General Lane) who has the captured Brainiac (for now) with Codename: Assassin and all sorts of old Cadmus Project things lingering out there. It's got potential for big wowie zowie and all sorts of continuity games, hopefully it will be pulled off.
FINAL CRISIS RAGE OF THE RED LANTERNS #1- As much as I have liked Geoff Johns run on Action, I've kind of gone cold on Green Lantern. I couldn't get with the origin story and everything seems to have been on hold since the Sinestro War. I dunno, maybe this will reignite the spark.

I'll also probably keep on the lookout for the Northlanders trade, which came out last week, but I didn't see a copy. I'd also like to pickup the new Scalped trade, which came out a couple of weeks back.

feels like less but I guess #18 and Datebook 2 were both December so I was still reading them in Jan...

Just this for me, dollar collapse means waiting on paperback for SPEAK OF THE DEVIL probably

Ward Fowler, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 10:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh, Ware...hmmm. I guess I may buy that, but not today.
