Vaguely remember this Kenner Action Figure tie-in, but I think it had something to do with the END OF THE WORLD + Darkseid. Remember a scene with Flash and Robin (and maybe Batman) in a post-apocolyptic Vegas.

by the time of super powers i think kirby's eyesight and pencil control were pretty shot - and it didn't help that greg fuckin theakston inked the only kirby drawn issue - not a good way to remember the king (but still better than final crisis, obv)

Nope, he drew all the covers and issue 5, but issues 1-4 are pencilled by Adrian Gonzales and inked by Pablo Marcos

hrm. I see. It's my own inconsistencies what's tripped me up. In my head, it's all Kirby, even the minicomics that came with the action figs.

to be honest, i'd forgotten all abt the second, all-kirby series until i too scuttled over to the GCD - sez it was inked by bill wray, which wld def. be a step up from theakston. again, if i remember rightly the action figs were partly a way for DC to give Kirby a royalty on darkseid and other characters without giving him any copyright or anything - this was at the time he was getting screwed by marvel over original artwork return etc
