Hey, we're back: http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/newreleases.txt

Douglas, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 04:39 (sixteen years ago)

And yes, there was no shipping thread last week, and we weren't that much the poorer for it. But I like these threads.

For me:

BATMAN AND ROBIN #1--because I don't think the Morrison/Quitely team is capable of making a bad comic at this point
SEAGUY: THE SLAVES OF MICKEY EYE #3--see above, except substitute Stewart
CHEW #1--very curious about this odd new Image detective series
MARVEL: YOUR UNIVERSE #5--five recent series I didn't read the first time around, for a more reasonable price
THE MUPPET SHOW #3--Roger Langridge is a ge-ni-us
GEORGE SPROTT HC--already read this, actually--superb, gigantic, sorta-whimsical Seth blowout
UPTIGHT #3--Jordan Crane!

Batman/Robin, Seaguy and uh -- yeah. That's it, I think.

Diamond won't load but from Douglas list I’m also saying Batman & Robin and Seaguy and maaaaybe George Sprott depending on price (read it week by week in the magazine), and FUUUUUCK YOOOOU Diamond for not sending Muppets #2 to Australia yet. My shop will now force me to waste twenty bucks on two issues that I can’t read, because I put it on my standing order.

Buffy: Tales of the Vampires
Batman and Robin
Seaguy
Solomon Grundy
(part of the 'eh, it's something to read...' pile)
Superman: World of New Krypton
New Mutants
(It's a race to see whether I drop it before it gets cancelled!)
Muppet Show

And I'll probably get Moomin v4 at some point.

Of note from last week: Spider-Man: The Short Halloween, which may have the distinction of being the first SNL-related Marvel comic since Spider-Man teamed up with the Not Ready For Prime Time Players. Although it really wasn't much to write home about.
And Essential X-Men v9!!!

MAR092463 SPAWN #192 $2.95

damn, I'm getting old...

The double morrisson for sure. Dunno about anything else, although that Chew thing does sound pleasingly perverse.

definitely down for the final Moomin hardcover too (will sign Tuomas' petition to carry on with the Lars years tho!)

I'm getting the Moomin as well - didn't even realise this was out until Deric mentioned it upthread.

James Morrison, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 04:48 (sixteen years ago)

CONAN THE CIMMERIAN #11- I really like the artwork and especially the colors on this book.
BATMAN AND ROBIN #1- I'm curious to see how this will go.
SECRET SIX #10- This one should be the start of a new story line.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #596 (via mail sub - haven't gotten 595 yet)
WARLORD #3 - I did see they were putting out a Showcase of the old 70s stuff including the First Issue Special and the first 28 issues in volume 1. That will be one I will get, but I think it probably would have helped to get it out before the started the new series. So far the first two issues have been introducing the characters.

because I haven't been in since, um, Final Crisis ended???, my LCS put all the Final Crisis follow-up series in my file. So now I have to read them. Some of them have apparently lasted more than one issue!

I don't think the Legion one is even finished yet, is it?

saw the first volume of D+Q's John Stanley Library today, one of seth's loveliest designs and i always prefer direct-from-comic-repro (ie like THE SMITHSONIAN BOOK OF COMIC BOOKS), so will def. pick that up when i have some dough - and can't wait for the NANCY volume now

Batman and Robin: I like!

James Morrison, Thursday, 4 June 2009 23:09 (sixteen years ago)

Nope, FC: Legion of 3 Worlds still has an issue left to go. George Perez is sloooow, for obvious reasons.

I like Batman & Robin too! I like Seaguy even more!

Douglas, Friday, 5 June 2009 04:35 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, Batman & Robin was so good that I didn't mind paying for the Final Crisis spinoffs. Of course, once I read them...
