I forget, was it something stupid?

Oh wait, it was because Ampersand had something special in him and he pooped it out into Yorick's mouth or something, right?

Organized Crime (Leee), Monday, 2 May 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

Didn't he have a magic ring?

Huk-L, Monday, 2 May 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

I think it was the monkey poo, and that the ring was a red herring. I think. The monkey magic still needs to be explained, though.

Pseu-Pseu-PseudoImmunoglobulin!

i'd have been happy enough never finding out the cause, or the cure

Slumpman (Slump Man), Monday, 2 May 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

i have to admit, i never saw it coming

tom west (thomp), Monday, 2 May 2005 23:16 (twenty years ago)

has the writer (name i forget, oops) (vaughan?) stated whether he has the grand arc of the thing mapped out or its a make it up as he goes along dealy?

i think i really like this explanation, whichever of the above it is

tom west (thomp), Monday, 2 May 2005 23:17 (twenty years ago)

he admits through yorick that it's a "Rip Off" explanation so either he doesn't care or there';; be a twist in the tale. we still don't know WHY the monkeypoo was immune

Slumpman (Slump Man), Monday, 2 May 2005 23:49 (twenty years ago)

I like this explanation too. I like it even more now that it's been explained in the most recent issue that capuchins "take about five minutes to potty train." So Yorick isn't the last man despite being a slacker who couldn't be bothered to learn how to train a monkey, he's the last man because of that. That's like Alanis-grade irony, right there.

yeah they were flirting with midichlorians in a couple of issues there so i'm glad they flipped to 'o wait, it was something scientific. don't worry about it. howsabout some lezzing up?'

It was the Green Globulin.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 03:19 (twenty years ago)

I interviewed Vaughan a few weeks ago, and he says he's had the entire series mapped out from the beginning, with a couple of patches where he could improvise if something came to him along the way.

they still haven't explained how sll the world's blokes died simultanaeously... the only reasonable explanation for that is that they were struck down BY MAGICK.

two years pass...

Some time back I missed the issue where they explained why Yorick and Ampersand died. Ages later I found it. Phew.

And now it is over... I was very sad when little Ampersand died.

I must try and remember the name of the guy who wrote this comic and see if he writes anything else.

His name's the easy part, since it's in the thread title. Ex Machina is very good, ditto The Pride of Baghdad. Runaways is decent. He wrote the 2nd story arc of the new Buffy comic -- meh.

Rock Hardy, Friday, 1 February 2008 20:58 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, but I don't carry ILX around with me wherever I go.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Friday, 1 February 2008 22:04 (seventeen years ago)

You lost me. You can post to this thread without seeing its title?

Rock Hardy, Friday, 1 February 2008 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

No, I mean that when I am in a comic shop, I might think "so what was the name of that guy who wrote Y again?" and because I don't have ILX with me, I will see a comic book by Rob Liefeld and think "Oh, that must be him", buy it, and be disappointed.
