Maybe this will lead to a Marvel Ultimate Kingdom Hearts Alliance videogame.

Most importantly:

strategic focus on quality branded content, technological innovation and international expansion to build long-term shareholder value

I would go see a Power Pack movie.

Would be very happy if they (a) did this and (b) made it a movie for grown-ups more than kids. Anyway: Ghost Rider.

Fantastic Four! Er, although they kind of did that already.

chap, Monday, 31 August 2009 14:59 (fifteen years ago) link

No one would go see it but a Pixared New Warriors movie could be pretty cool; ditto Thunderbolts.

Power Pack is a good idea, but I think I like the idea of Vaughan's Runaways storyline even better. It has the right level of darkness to lead into more mature stuff down the road.

Hugh Manatee (WmC), Monday, 31 August 2009 15:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Actually I hold little hope that Pixar will adapt any of Marvel's comics. They seem focused on producing kids movies with material embedded in them to appeal to/pacify parents.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 31 August 2009 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

ooh Runaways is a good call

NYX is probably too dark, right?

I want the Weinsteins and Disney/Marvel to have a big group hug leading to a Tarantino film of Alias. (ugh, are there no depths to my nerdery...)

Hugh Manatee (WmC), Monday, 31 August 2009 15:33 (fifteen years ago) link

Huh, I never even heard of NYX until now. That fell at the end of my time away from comics.

Hugh Manatee (WmC), Monday, 31 August 2009 15:36 (fifteen years ago) link

A Tarantino superhero flick might be pretty cool actually.

Bad news for all of the Disney titles that Boom! has printed or is licensed to print?

They're not going to break contracts in order to cancel the licenses, duh.

You don't have to travel to the moon of Endor or the desert planet of Tatooine to find the three new Marvel Star Wars series! If you subscribe today, they'll be delivered directly to your door! Starting things off is Star Wars from all-star creative team Jason Aaron and John Cassaday. If you're looking to join a darker side of the force, try Darth Vader from Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca, beginning in February. But sometimes it takes a princess to save the day, so look for Star Wars: Princess Leia from Mark Waid and Terry Dodson coming this March!

Not super interested in Star Wars, but I like all those writers. Not really keen on any of those artists though. I guess they're "prestige".

Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 9 January 2015 12:31 (ten years ago) link

Cassaday can draw everything except people's faces. Larocca *really* depends on a good inker/colorist. Dodson is one of those nu-cheesecake artists like Frank Cho that leaves me a bit cold, even though he can obviously draw pretty good.

Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 9 January 2015 12:33 (ten years ago) link

Cassaday feels like an excellent choice for a space opera, the splash-page space scenes in Astonishing X-Men and Planetary looked really cool.
