Sometimes I think I'm too hard on Rucka because he SO OFTEN comes SO CLOSE to doing stuff I really like, and has obviously read/watched a lot of the same movies/books I have, and really, what comic book writer DOESN'T write the same shit over and over again? I did like Whiteout pretty okay, even bought the sequel (haven't read yet), so I will probs go see the movie or possibly rent it.

Wait, Whiteout is the Rucka book? I'll be damned, I thought it was some horrorshow thing a'la the Thing. Funny, my first thought was "RUCKA?" and then I went "oh no, there's horror strings and people disappearing, can't be".

I swear to god the first time I saw that link, I thought it said Burt Reynolds.
The look is fine, but I have no interest in Ryan Reynolds and even less interest in seeing him play Green Lantern. The choice of Reynolds alone seems to suggest that the tone of the movie is going to be off.

He looks more like Kyle Rayner than Hal Jordan, but I guess it's Hal who will be in the movie? It'd be hella cool if Guy Gardner made an appearance, as he's the only one of the Earth lanterns who's actually an interesting character.
