I think I may have confused "cool" with "goofy", but I don't care.

one month passes...
Take that, Hal Jordan! You and your getting chummy with the blue people and saving the orange people, geez.

I can't wait for the no-longer-deceased Oliver Queen and the (soon-to-be) no-longer-deceased Hal Jordan to get back together for some exciting Zombie Heroics!

They should do a Marvel / DC crossover with Morbius & Brother Voodoo. One of those 100 PAGE SPECIALS.

The weirdest thing about the Ollie/Hal relationship is the way soooo many more comics have sort of referenced it, or summoned it, or relied on it being there, than have actually
demonstrated it, you know? I mean, I love the original road trip, Hard Travellin Heroes or whatever the TPBs are called. Some of my favorite DC comics, and I forgive their every moment of overdrama and cheesiness. But the Ollie and Hal stuff in more recent years has seemed lazier, like we were just supposed to remember that once upon a time -- when the characters were written very differently, especially Hal, and a context shaped their arguments which is now way outside the timeline -- they were friends. Hardly any consideration ended up being given to how that friendship would be different given how different the characters became.
All of which is a long way of saying, I don't have high hopes for an Ollie and Hal Reborn reunion.
Brother Voodoo and Morbius, on the other hand, could be cool. Brother Voodoo was in Outsiders, hell, that was cool.

Fuck, we're going to need a 90s nostalgia / canonization thread, because I just remembered (fondly!) that Morbius had a solo title.

The only good Hal/Ollie moment since Ollie left the GL title back in like '79 or whenever, was in a very nice two-part story early in the first GA run, I think around #19 or #20. Ollie had shot a kid (with an arrow) and was drinking himself stupid out of guilt. Hal showed up and took him camping. No spandex, no ring, no self-righteousness from either of them, but they did have a fistfight. It was the last time Hal got decent writing. He got to be a mature character who cared about his friends. I remember Ollie making some remark too about how Hal must have a picture somewhere that isn't looking so hot, and then a very short time later the new GL series debuted with white-templed Hal. Fucking DC mistaking coloring for characterization.

ooh ooh, and the stuff in Quiver, with Hal, Ollie and Barry in Heaven was kinda sweet in a completely regressive way.

The Quiver stuff was good, but I can't help feeling it would have been better if Hal were dead instead of being the Spectre. That's a whole different can of worms, though.
I haven't read the Ollie/Hal camping trip! Damn.
And why is it superheroes only go grey/white, never thin? I'm dismayed that my thinning temples mean no amount of cosmic rays can make me rubbery.
