laffs, yuks, and the like, not to mention the use of the term "graphic novel" on the ILC, a place where the rough-n-ready moniker of "comics" would strike one as more appropriate, particularly in regard to a big ole grand-summation-of-an-era poll.

hahaha - i had to look it up to see if it actually existed - can't believe that COUNTDOWN PRESENTS: THE SEARCH FOR RAY PALMER: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT is real

I voted for it! I loved that one!

Is Final Crisis: Requiem the one where Brad Meltzer tries to make Geo-Force badass?

the fact that i know this and kinda care that it was MORE AWFUL THAN EXPECTED means that this thread makes fun of me.

wow, I have read none of them. When did the Captain America one come out? I remember a prequel issue or something, but not it itself.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 13:19 (fifteen years ago) link

I voted for Ultimate Power because it's ultimate.

What's that Law & Order: Gotham police procedural one? did that ever go past one book?

Philip Nunez, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 19:11 (fifteen years ago) link

40 issues.

WRAPPEDTOBER (sic), Tuesday, 3 November 2009 20:36 (fifteen years ago) link

Gotham Central wasn't too bad at all, actually. Dug it even just for the art, but some of the stories were pretty cool.

Nhex, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 20:41 (fifteen years ago) link

The one TPB I read was pretty good -- any more like it? Wasn't there a Superman equivalent where Clark Kent is only a journalist and it is a newsroom procedural like last season of The Wire?

Captain America: White (goddammit)

which series was that?

Nhex, Thursday, 5 November 2009 21:25 (fifteen years ago) link

A LOEB/SALES joint, of which there has only been a prequel, apparently. When I opted to put it on the list, I thought it was a full blown ICONIC series that had already seen healthy hardcover sales - sometimes the punchlines write themselves.

was there? There was a little bit of that in 52, and the One Year Later Superman story (when Supes had lost his Supes-y-ness).
