She's great, I'm sad at the prospect of running out of Urusei Yatsura books to read :(

What say you?

Her works are nice but formulaic, though I guess that's the case with most of girls' manga.

Or most of all commercial manga. That's why I've become rather bored with it.

Oh, I think she has a more distinctive style than most other Manga I've read, certainly more humorous.

two years pass...
I'll go out on a limb and say Takahashi doesn't get nearly enough credit (from comics people - obviously anime kids are all over Ranma costumes and shit like that). Go check out the first few volumes of translated Ranma - especially whichever one has the ice skating battle in it (#3 maybe?) - that is some AMAZING fight choreography. You just don't see that kind of stuff in Western comics, even in superheros where the fights are supposed to be the bread and butter of the genre. Tons of figures moving in space, everything has weight and clear momentum, you understand where they are in relation to each other and what they're trying to do. Great, great stuff, and that's just off the top of my head one of the many reasons why she's underrated...

I think you're probably right, but it's been a long time since i've read anything of hers. she was a big favorite when i was going through my anime/manga phase in middle school.
