Sorry, It's a little lazy of me to ask, but I'm staying in NYC -- does anyone know what the good indie and/or super'ero comic stores are around here (and Broooklyn and Queens)?

I always stuck to J!m H@nley or whatever it's called on 32nd? Right by the Empire State Building. There was also one on St Marks across from Kim's, I think. My friend used to get his superhero comics at a shop on I believe 28th St. way to the west, but that was a traditional small and unpleasant shop.

Jeez, it shows that I haven't lived there in a few years.

Broadway & 13th Street: Forbidden Planet.
Seventh Avenue & 8th street (brooklyn): don't remember the name. they have some weird stuff in their $0.50 bins. I got some issues of teen titans GO and daredevil the other day. \

but forbidden planet, really, is the one I go to--one of the biggest/best. indie & superhero. also sci-fi memorabilia, action figures, anime, video games, sci-fi novels, magic cards, yugioh cards, etc etc. HUGE selection of trades.

J!m H@nley's Un!verse is the best by reputation. St. M@rks has apparently improved of late, but has a reputation for surly staff and poor conditions (in his TCJ interview, Ev@n D0rkin tells of a friend picking up a comic with actual human faeces on the cover).

That was just a collectivle variant.

Forbidden Planet always seemed vaguely overpriced, even though I think that's impossible.

forbidden planet charges cover price on everything, no tax

(no tax may not apply to videogames/dvds/action figures. i dunno.)

Is Forbidden Planet better than Midtown Comics (40th and 7th Ave.) in any way?

I think Midtown's the best of the bunch, but I could see an argument for Jim Hanley's - they do carry some "indie" things that Midtown doesn't.
