Maybe you could also mention the names of the artists who did the covers? I recognize the other ones based on the drawing style, but I have no idea who the "Captain Swing" cover is by.

Yeah, I was pretty sure the Kula Shaker cover was by Gibbons based on the floating heads, but the couple in the middle made me doubt it a bit, they look closer to Charles Vess's style.

But I guess Gibbons is just more versatile than I thought, I never would've guessed that Bomb the Bass cover is by him.

It's pretty weird to see McKean's Sandman style art on the cover of a rap album. Based on the cover pic you'd think it's a goth rock record or something.

yeah, Gibbons didn't do the Bomb The Bass one, but only because of a too-short deadline. The inside art was more specificly Gibbons-aping, IIRC. He did all the design for post-Madness spin-off The Madness, not sure if it was art-directing someone else though.

Iggy is by Charles Burns, Janis is by R. Crumb, Michelle Shocked is by Xaime and EPMD is by Bill Sienkiewicz.

Ward Fowler, who are those album covers by, I have no idea? (Except for the Grateful Dead cover, which must be by Gilbert Shelton.) The "Man from Utopia" cover looks like it's by that Italian guy who did Ranxerox, can't remember his name.

Man from Utopia is indeed Liberatore. Zorn's Spy vs. Spy is by Mark Beyer. The Frisell album is Jim Woodring, and there is quite a bit of his art on it, with an outer slipcase along with the booklet and tray art. The Groundhogs looks like (rushed, cruddy) Neal Adams.

Oh, duh -- I'm not going to link to any because I'm lazy, but there are a bunch of Frazetta covers out there. Molly Hatchet, et al.

I saw this cassette in a thrift store in high school and got it just because of the cover art. I had seen just a few Mark Beyer panels in a book about comics but I wanted to read his stuff so bad. This was the closest I could get. I bought it and it was responsible for getting me into Zorn and Coleman. Thanks Mark Beyer!
