Comic Swap

I was just looking at my shelves of floppies and softcovers and realized that I wanted to clear some of this stuff out. You may know the feeling. But along with that comes the realization that 1) this stuff is not worth a lot of money but 2) i don't want to just throw them out because 3) they're good solid reads and 4) i would prefer somebody got them that would like them!

So here's my thought: I would like to do a straight up swap of some quality stuff that I won't likely read again anytime soon. If there's anybody on ILC who's in the mood, I propose we do this:
- I'll post a list of material I'm okay getting rid of along with some wishlist stuff
- You post the issues/books that you'd like to get from me and then list the material you have to trade
- Together, we negotiate for a fair trade of books and then we mail them to each other.

Maybe we trade this stuff back, but probably not. Pay for your own postage and that'll do it. I'd really welcome the overseas peephole!
Anybody into this? Let me know and I'll start culling my shelves.

um, file under bad ideas?

Great idea if I had something to trade. Sold most of my odds and ends over the years, and now am just rebuilding and expanding a collection a piece or two at a time. I'm being much more particular these days about what I buy versus what I read from the library so what I do have I couldn't bear to part with.

the idea is nice but the overseas post age would likely be beastly

nice idea forks, i don't really have much to swap, is the thing

friends of mine have used this site in the past:

I hear what you guys are saying but I often find that I reevaluate what I have vs what I want when it's in black and white. plus a few of you (looking at you douglas) are pros and may just want to get rid of doubles or whatever. I'm in the midst of a cull and will post the final list here when I'm done and if that don't work, i'll try taking it to sequential swap. it's a growing pile of stuff.

I'm US, but I would be up for a UK trade especially if it was for stuff I can't get stateside.
