Work as in a run on a series, or a graphic novel.

Frank Miller - the first Martha Washington
Greg Rucka - Elektra
Mike Mignola - Conqueror Worm (not counting Seed of Destruction because that wasn't a 100% Mignola joint)
Jeff Smith - Bone: Ghost Circles

Martha Washington = FM blatantly ripping off Watchmen -- he even stole Dave Gibbons! (Mind, I'm meh about Watchmen and a huge FM fan.)

Elektra = no body except FM can write a decent Elektra story. Rucka's, I actually stopped reading it mid-arc, but it was same old: Elektra this super-ninja of few words, very one dimensional.

Elektra, killer of great writers!

Conqueror Worm = Hellboy on the margins; Roger the Homonculus gets the spotlight is boring. The climactic scene involves HB looking grim, striking a pose and muttering, "Roger, you can do it!" Not necessarily as bad as the other titles here, but relative to other Hellboy books, a dud. (Again, not counting Seed of Destruction.)

Ghost Circles = unusually lazy/uninspired art, and a bewildering, meandering and arbitrary story.
