Do mutants ever eat non-mutant people?

It may seem like a silly questions but I have to ask. Last night, someone read a speech that Magneto gives in a new X-Men comic (the one with Wolverine or Beast on the cover). Is it Ultimate X-Men? X-treme X-men? Anyway, Magneto appears on all the world's televisions and jabbers on about how much better homo-sapien-mutants are than regular old homo-sapiens, and how we all have six months to surrender the world to the mutants, yadda yadda. Always harping on the same thing, that Magneto. He goes on to say something like, "I will decide which of your races to keep for slaves and which to put in our larder."

So I have to ask: Do mutants eat humans? I asked the guy who read it to me and he evasively said, "I'm sure there are some that are capable of it." But I want to know! Has, I don't know, Sabertooth ever actually eaten any of his kills?

And it just occurred to me that even if Magneto sat down to a steaming bowl of chili con human, he wouldn’t think of it as cannibalism at all. He thinks we're just... lesser animals.

COMIC BOOK GUY ALERT!

Well, actually, there were rumors that Grant Morrisson was going to have Jean Grey eat bits of Wolverine to survive being stranded in space (since, y'know, Wolverine regenerates). But that's cannibalism within the same species. I imagine if Sabertooth does any chewing & swallowing, it's because of his feral predatory nature more than his superiority in the Circle of Life. Though this would explain why Blob is so chunky...

Where was this speech read, VG, and were they advocating the anti-sapien platform? if so, I should start ingesting some skunk cabbage, some castor oil, and whatever they serve on _Fear Factor_. If I am gonna get chomped, I wanna taste like ass.

Anyone w/ an over/under on when Marvel will premiere some uber-Sabertoothian meat-rending anti-human killing machine?

Not the same thing, but when they were trapped on that space station Wolverine does talk about being trapped under an avalanche or some such thing and eating strips off of his arm for six months to stay alive. Auto-cannibalism?

I think it was Ultimate X-Men #44, but I can check tonight.

I think Magneto is always on an anti-sapien platform. But then, I wonder, what's Prof. X et al thinking when Magneto does things like that. Magneto's giving all the mutants a bad name...

What? That's ridiculous! Where does he get the energy to regenerate from, then? Cosmic radiation or something?

He's Canadian! He doesn't need radiation!

I don't know Wolverine meat is probably reasonably high calorie, I'm sure he could get enough energy to grow it back and do it again as long he ate abstemiously.

I would for someone to write that storyline. The X-Men putter around doing what they do for six issues, and every few pages cut to Wolverine gnawing on his arm.

wolverine's stomach = maxwell's demon?

Entropy is no match for Canadian berserker rage.

So it's not Ultimate X-Men #44. It's "X-Men, the War" or something like that. Anyway, that's not the point. The original quesion was: Has a mutant ever eaten a non-mutant (i.e. human) before? Forget auto-cannabalism, friendly cannabalism, Wolverine's nationality, etc.

I have money riding on this question...

I asked my X-Men expert girlfriend this question, and she couldn't come up with anything.

A quick google shows some mutant-on-human gustatory potential here though.

Alf eats cats.

My cat's breath smells like ALF.

Finally. Finally, finally I got the exact name of the comic: Ultimate War #1. I was so wrong before, I admit it.

Later on in the comic (or in #2), the Hulk goes around eating people. I'm getting more and more disturbed by what I hear is in the story.

And thanks for the help; I've just won $20.00. I'd split the winnings with you guys but I'd rather keep it for myself and spend it on comics.

VG, didn't you read that issue of the Ultimates where the Hulk King Kongs New York because Betty is on a date with Freddy Prinze Jr.? He's dryhumping skyscrapers for most of the issue!

Also, as "gritty" as the MarvUltiVerse claims to be, at least they haven't resorted to having Iceman form a new body from someone's piss. Yet.

one year passes...
Humannn… I need… you…

You're joking, right, David? Chuck Austen did that a couple of years back.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Sunday, 10 July 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

MarvUltiVerse, Matt. Not 616 proper.

David R. (popshots75`), Sunday, 10 July 2005 22:00 (twenty years ago)

D'Oh.
