He sorta alternates between being the best character in the DCU (the sole MAJOR character who's really been allowed to grow over his 65 year history) and a trainwreck of shititude.
I'm not sure what the deal is with the writer, and this interview is a head-scratcher:

I saw a snippet of a DG interview where she equates writing a Batman book to selling underwear - is that from one of those links you just offered, Hukster?

Probably. In the second one, she talks about how you can't do anything "meaningful" with characters that, at the end of the day, exist primarily (in the eyes of their copyright holders) to sell toothpaste.

Devin Kallie Grayson is an openly bisexual comic book writer. She is best known for her runs on Nightwing and The Titans.

As part of their new trend of doing interviews with creators who can't say anthing about their projects, N'rama talks to Bruce Jones re: Nightwing ( http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Robin/Jones_Nightwing.htm ) and he doesn't say much.
BUT, the cover shot shows a Nightwing hand holding the same sexy dagger that Jason Todd/Clitoris has been brandishing over in Batman comics since his return from the vulva, er, grave. Is it possible that JT will take over tha 'Wang OYL? Which would free Dicky up to become Batman when Bruce Wang goes cuckoo.
OR, GET THIS:
Red Hood battles Nightwang, and by some contrived turn of events, they end up switching costumed identities. But Batman doesn't know. SO when Batman and Red Hood finally have their big throw-down to end all throw-downs, and Batman finally crosses the line (which is what sends him to the loony bin) killing Red Hood, who is post-mortem revealed to be DICK GRAYSON!!!

Can Nightwing/Dick Grayson be rehabilitated?
It (lately) seems as though he exists solely to fuel the fanfickers and to linger in the shadows of more interesting characters' lives (ie Batman, Barbara Gordon, Danny Chase) and has never ACTUALLY developed into the ACTUAL leading man that having yr own title hit #120 would suggest.

WTF is wrong with Nightwing fans? There's been a seemingly overwhelming BOO from Internet nerds over the current Nightwing story. SO LOUD that DC has gone and hired MARVELOUS MARV WOLFMANG to take over the title.
I LIKED this story. Jason Todd = Nightwing, Dick Grayson = Nightwing, Some Chick = Nightwing. PARTY!
Cool villians, lotsa gross stuff, Dickie the Fashion Model (ha ha!). Whatever.
Also "WANG OYL"= CLASSIC.
