It's up, but I am weirdly unmoved by this week's fare: maybe only THE PULSE jumps out at me. How about you?

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 12 September 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

I'm excited about Fables, Batman: LotDK, and the silliness that is X-Men. I'll probably get Frank Miller's Bat-dingus too, but I won't be excited about it.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 12 September 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

"Unmoved by this week's..."! Come on, SCOOBY DOO #100!

Leeeeeeeee (Leee), Monday, 12 September 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

Desolation Jones. That is all.

J (Jay), Monday, 12 September 2005 23:06 (twenty years ago)

I'd be more excited about Milligan X-Men, but it's that Black Panther crossover. Eh. I'll pick up Ultimate X-Men too, which has been entertaining.

GREEN ARROW #54 - Guest starring Black Lightning...fer realz this time, promise!
JLA #118 - Q: Who Martian Manhunts the Martian Manhunter? A: Despero
JSA #77 - Alan Scott and Hal Jordan team up...guest starring Airwave!
RANN THANAGAR WAR #5 (OF 6) - This book is such a mess, but, I still like it.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 September 2005 13:47 (twenty years ago)

Just Desolation, None-Star Batman and X-Men for me!

(though I'll end up reading a mix of the lists by Davidr and huk-l)

iodine (iodine), Tuesday, 13 September 2005 15:17 (twenty years ago)

JSA is rub this month - Airwave is driven mad by the lame plots of the Infinite Crisis prelude miniseries and flies around going "Aaargh the pain". The JSA realise that something is afoot but don't really do much about it - go super team! Hal Gordon and Alan Scott Green Lanterns team up to chase Airwave (Weights and Measures man alert - surely he should be called Electro Magnetic Wave??). Alan issues some Homilies. They meet Donna Troi in space. The end.

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 15 September 2005 12:01 (twenty years ago)

Fables was excellent as always, it was a nice epilogue to the Boy Blue storyline.

Haven't read anything else yet, but Maddie was reading lines from Batman & Robin to me in the car to shame me for having bought it.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 15 September 2005 12:56 (twenty years ago)

X-fans should not be shaming any damn one. (YEAH THAT'S RIGHT!)

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

No, no. ASB&TBW is shockingly awful. Even after having been forewarned by the merely bad first issue, I was completely unprepared for the astounding horridness of #2.

JSA was kinda lame, but I kinda liked the way it looked. Really clean and bright.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

I...I thought it might get better. :( Now I'll have to scrounge up $2.99 of camp amusement from it.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:44 (twenty years ago)

The Vicki Vale/Afred SWOON splash is, y'know, almost worth it. As soon as I noticed Alfred wasn't wearing a shirt, I was like, they're not, they wouldn't...THEY DID!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

yes, I liked the JSA art too - better than the regular art

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

The cover said it was the regular art team, but I suspect they were just being big fucking liars.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

Also, Winter Men #1 is really good. I haven't gotten to #2 yet, but I bought them both yesterday. Very good.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 September 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

Airwave is gonna die!!!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 September 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

first he will fly back to earth and land on the JSA coffee table and warn them that "A great crisis is coming". Gasp!

Mark C (Markco), Friday, 16 September 2005 08:34 (twenty years ago)

He already did!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 16 September 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

this time he will come back with some flipcharts etc, so they actually do something about it

Mark C (Markco), Friday, 16 September 2005 14:00 (twenty years ago)

And Mr. Terrific ends up buying a vacuum!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 16 September 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

"Nuts? You want to see nuts, kid?"

And did Miller's keyboard keep copy/pasting the dialogue, or summat?

Leeeeeeeee (Leee), Friday, 16 September 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

It kept pasting it brutally. Brutally. It was brutal. Pasted brutally. Brutal. Brutal. It pasted it.

kit brash (kit brash), Saturday, 17 September 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

Anyone get Thor? Who's writing it, how is it? Was out of town this past wednesday and only got a chance to pick up Daredevil/Punisher so far. Going to the comic shoppe on Sunday afternoon, though, to get some more..

action comics, maybe batman & robin, maybe MK spiderman..

Ian John50n (orion), Saturday, 17 September 2005 04:30 (twenty years ago)
