the same way foster the people reminds me of mgmt, it just seems like the blippy vocal punctuation and the quirky boppy almost subsaharan rhythm and guitar lines have some shared lineage, but done so much less compellingly.

i mean point of ref there would be "the bizness" to "forever" i guess - the quirky luaka bop vibe without anything behind it. idk.

58. angel haze - pretty much had me from the word go, love the track, love the little captured inhalations in the way she is recorded, same sorta O_O reaction i had when i first "212", but with more lasing power i think and less minajisms. chorus is fucking awesome, yeah this is killer top to bottom. thx ilx!

57. Mungolain Jetset - sounds like somebody spent a lot of time listening to SAW. not a bad thing necc, and its getting more interesting as it goes, i was worried i was going to spend 6 minutes in the intro loop there for a while. completely pleasant, but not what i am looking for.

56. jessie ware running - ok first things first i have to stop trying to figure out what this bloopy synth intro reminds me of because that is driving me crazy. dont like this. this woman cant sing for shit, and sounds like she is using sade (who is good) to pass off a totally mediocre vocal. never mind, its not just mediocre, she is awful. cant wait to shut this off and skip to the next track OH NO

55. jessie ware wildest moments - background music might be better on this one, but she hasnt started singing yet so. i hate this less but oh man what the fuck she has srsly one of the most annoying vocal characters and its just so dull.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Saint Etienne! (not enough to, you know, actually listen to the album, but I liked it more than the general "oh this is nice" reaction I've had to most of their material)

i was thinking a st et/pet shop boys split EP where they each cover two songs by the other band would be the most amazing thing in the world.
