maybe you should post more fascinating threads like this. that would liven things up a bit.

well his enforced absence from his own thread might give him some time to think about his priorities

internets tend to get boring, even when it's "exciting".

a break never hurt anyone, you can always lurk.

R_S (RSLaRue), Monday, 2 October 2006 23:25 (eighteen years ago)

I'll be straight: the first ILM thread I ever read was The Canonical List of Overheated ILM Race Relation Threads. I went through everything on that list and got excited as fuck that I'd found a community of people who (more often than not, it seemed) were intelligently discussing difficult issues in pop music and pop music criticism. It set me up for a bit of a disappointment when I discovered that not every new thread had the same kind of intellectually stimulating conversation.

Since then, though, I've settled in and found nu-nu-ILM to be a fun and entertaining place with frequent flashes of insight from the likes of Nabisco, Tims Finney & Ellison, Ned, et. al (you all know the group of smarty-pantses I'm referring to, I can't possibly list them all). Though this place is clearly no longer the bastion of intensely focused discourse that the archives suggest it once was, I still have a helluva time here and do what little is within my power to help make discussion fun and stimulating.
