Chud has good interview posted right now with the screenwriter and producer of the Aeon Flux movie. I can honestly say I'm much more excited to see it now. There's alot of stuff about Peter in there too:

"What we’re going to do is build a new fanbase and bring back the original episodes, put them on DVD. We’re talking to Peter about creating some new stuff. What he loves about the process in many ways is the revival of Aeon Flux. That’s really great is to be able to say to him that while we have a parallel thing going on we want to get people interested in the show."

I can't believe there's a good possibility that we could get some new Aeon Flux animation from Peter Chung! Just imagining the possibilities with the new amazing techniques he's been using in Matriculated and Dark Fury is tantalizing!

Oh my GOD. I love this guy. I love THESE guys, rather. I get the definite feeling reading this interview that they do the same things I do when watching AF, they watch episodes 100 times with their friends and then go over all the intricate points and try to work out how stuff was put together, etc etc etc.

I'm just geeking out over here. The fact that someone that's an honest to god fan sits down and you begin to realize they understand the spirit and the ideas behind the show, and talks about the script as an unambiguously reverent followup to the show... It really is getting to me. This may not be "PETER CHUNG'S AEON FLUX" but it's definitely Aeon Flux, I'm sure of that now.

I'm hoping there's a commentary track on the eventual DVD that involves getting Phil Hay and Peter Chung talking about the movie together. I think we'd see some interesting intellectual fireworks as they discuss their perspective on it all.

I agree, it's great to hear that some people in charge of the movie seem to have some sort of love for the original show. It's very relieving to know that it isn't another situation where a great character is getting completely robbed and beaten by some huge hollywood execs. Oh man, I can't wait for the dvds...

These guys are pretty impressive. I didn't know that the movie was in planning stages for that long, it's so easy to write the idea off as a "basterdization." But it's very comfortable to hear them reiterate about an underlying understand, that I've tryed throughing on deff ears, working it's way into the film.
Cant wait.
