Wonderful Days never fails to transport me; Grave Of The Fireflies is close to my heart. And the Miyazaki films live and breathe like no other. But A Tree Of Palme (Palme No Ki) is my favorite animated feature. The story is deep and epic, with hints of Shinto animism, Freud and Jung. Visually, Moebius, Varo, oldschool Disney and GameArts' console RPGs are just some of the wonders that my mind cross-referenced on my original viewing. I can't wait to see it again.
