seriously, it's like a sci-fi or horror movie when someone turns out to be a robot or a vampire or werewolf or a robot vampire werewolf. from outer space.

latebloomer, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

or from hell. or from hellspace. you get the idea.

latebloomer, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:08 (seventeen years ago) link

There was "dick butkus" AND "butt dickass". Also "scorpion tea". I'm trying to find one of those 9/11 loose change threads he drooled all over, and these are all the names google and ilx thread search are throwing up.

"dean ge" did start some conspiracy related threads but they didn't really take off

North American Union & the "Amero" currency... why is nobody talking about this?

dmr, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:18 (seventeen years ago) link

there were a couple of threads from last night. he actually did get bugged when we started posting his old posts on one of them.

scott seward, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:18 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, the dean ge persona wasn't very successful! lots of dud threads that nobody posted on. that's probably why he got antsy.

scott seward, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:19 (seventeen years ago) link

tehresa that's just sad.

Jon Lewis, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Friday, 3 August 2007 20:58 (seventeen years ago) link

These kinds of characters kind of fascinate me-- I don't want to have to read or deal with their trolling, but I do want to know what kind of room they live in, what do they eat, do they have friends, etc.

Jon Lewis, Friday, 3 August 2007 22:18 (seventeen years ago) link

the heat was seriously making me hate at work last night. made me so miserable on into today. bad mood heat work vibe. i've been trying to relax. went to the used bookstore.

totally
xpost

ah, i left the house, feel better: went to the farmers' market with a couple friends and did my part in recovering vast quantities of awesome fresh fruit and vegetables that would otherwise meet the garbage - fridge full of free food! including: corn! huge amounts of basil! nectarines! a freakin' pineapple! cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, beets, parsley, cilantro. last week we even got papaya. anyway, i know it is 'dumpster diving' but there aren't really dumpsters, just boxes - it is gleaning; it is euro, haha
all this bounty trumps mental overload

rrrobyn, Saturday, 4 August 2007 00:42 (seventeen years ago) link

"buy anything good?"

john rockwell's all american music book with essays on cage, babbitt, shapey, rzewski, ashley, behrman, murch, eddie palmieri, neil young, sondheim, krenek, carter, um, and some others.

and peter shapiro's disco book. turn the beat around. kinda excited to finally read that. nice hardcover copy.

plus, i eyeballed a couple of harvey swados first editions, but i didn't take the plunge.

scott seward, Saturday, 4 August 2007 01:19 (seventeen years ago) link

nice.

all from the island?

sanskrit, Saturday, 4 August 2007 02:25 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, it's the only used bookstore on the island. two floors of an old barn. problem is, they are really really sleepy, so they aren't big on getting new stuff/new collections in. so i don't go there much. i have better luck at the thrift stores and at the dump actually.

scott seward, Saturday, 4 August 2007 02:46 (seventeen years ago) link
