the reason i didn't go and book one myself JUST IN CASE before now was because last time i did so i got in trouble because he hadn't "finalized" the "schedule" and i left "early" and missed an "important" dinner (with, uh, coworkers so not really sure why this was such a faux pas anyway).

i can't wait to get the update on wednesday about how much tequila he drank on tuesday tho!!!

uggggh.

elmo is otm, you really ought to complain to your boss' boss. even if this gets straightened out, he sounds seriously irresponsible.

there are a lot of smaller, reasonably priced boarding house type deals in Boston, if the hotel you found is really out of the way.

Hate HATE the store bag as tote, but I see it all the damn time. Granted for things you're going to, like, never see again that's fine (ie loaning something to a colleague or friend and taking it to meet them in a handy-dandy bag) is prob v good manners, HOWEVER I see tons of women putting, like, their lunches or their office shoes in little shopping bags and GAWD get ONE REAL PURSE that HOLDS THINGS.

i'll put stuff in a shopping bag if i need to, esp if it is something like lunch from home that i'm going to toss out the contents of the bag, but yeah the ladies that carry around their shopping bags with like their book and their ipod etc every day--that's kind of weird??? esp since huge purses are in fashion right now, what r u doin

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 2 August 2007 19:27 (seventeen years ago) link

i know, laurel. it's even worse when the person has been using the same one over and over and over again because it's a "status" bag, so it's all creased and manky looking. ok, big deal - you bought a keychain at tiffany a year ago. hey, high roller!

damn now i want pastrami

sanskrit, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:26 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't really like pastrami. I think this is because I haven't actually had proper pastrami and have actually been given leather soaked in pepper the few times I've asked for it in a sandwich...

kv_nol, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:34 (seventeen years ago) link

there's a place called "pastrami queen" near my work that's supposed to be great but i think the sandwiches are like $17

lauren, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:47 (seventeen years ago) link

It's okay, kv, I don't think I'm very interested in pastrami either. And I'm DEFINITELY not interested in kosher-keeping delis or traditional "New York" kosher-style delies because I require cheese on my meat sandwiches. It's heathen, I know, but there you have it.

kosher-style delis allow you to pollute your sandwiches with cheese, mayo, and any other debasements that you can think of, laurel.

sanskrit, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Now now, don't slander mayo -- it's perfectly kosher with meat, for some reason. Kosher eggs cannot have had any bloodspots on them, however, so one hopes the mayo is compliant.
