Peer Raben - The Tears of the Lady

aka 'Each Man Kills The Things He Loves'.

composed for the soundtrack Fassbinder's "Querelle", but used again in Wong Kar Wei's "2046". which I'm probably going to have to see again very soon.

Dunkelziffer In the Night

80s kraut feat. Damo. To be blunt but unkind, the short songs that make up the middle of the album flat out suck. But the kraut meets Roxy Music jams that start and end the album make it more than worthwhile.

i bussed tables at the "inn of the seventh ray" in topanga, where elizabeth clare prophet was a regular customer, and where most of the employees were involved with her church. we chanted before every shift and many years later i can still bust out a good "violet fire" or "lord michael".

now i see i couldve gotten the cd from amoeba. i just don't get whats going on here
https://bleep.com/release/64784-harmonia-documents-1975
how are mp3s available only to specific territories? are they 'imported'??

am0n, Monday, 17 October 2016 16:19 (eight years ago)

they just don't have the rights. Possibly the label licensed digital distro rights for other territories to other retailers, or that label only has UK rights to sell.

dan selzer, Monday, 17 October 2016 20:48 (eight years ago)

I didn't know they were doing that nonsense with MP3s now. Ridiculous. I can buy any CD from anywhere but MP3s are special and magical.

nice find

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 27 January 2020 20:30 (five years ago)

I’ve been drinking deep from that source for a few weeks now. Mostly classical. There are some staggering finds in there. Transfer quality is all over the place. Everything from pro-amateur to “the lp started skipping and I didn’t notice for 8 minutes but fuck it”. The Boston Public Library sub-collection seems to all be pretty well done but only about half of those are downloadable.

valet doberman (Jon not Jon), Monday, 27 January 2020 23:38 (five years ago)

feel free to share the staggering finds! <3
