You know what's sad? I'm barely a novice around here but I went to a bar last week with an INTERNET JUKEBOX and I still couldn't find anything to play. Struck out on, like, seven bands and then mind blanked. Dork.

Someone should make a jukebox where you dock your ipod and pay like 25 cents to play something off of it and it copies it over to the play queue

Yeah, well, I have NO IDEA why I thought some national music service would have the Bats/Pylon/Orange Juice/Pernice Bros/Richard Hell/Go-Betweens/Jonathan Richman or more than a cursory assortment of Kinks and it's pretty lame that I couldn't think of anything else, but I was like two-thirds in the bag!

this is kind of weird: i just downloaded some igot wakhevitch albums last night, and only saw this thread this morning.

ok, i guess it's not that weird, but i don't usually see his name popping up on here. i remember someone saying a couple years ago that he is now some professor somewhere of classical indian music, or something along those lines... does anyone have any idea what i'm talking about? i couldn't get anything on google.

last I heard, wakhevitch was living on some remote island in the Pacific (or maybe India?), but really don't know anything. I got a friend of mine to translate the liner notes of the box for me, but it was very little bio, mostly stuff that would make Ian Penman's Scott Walker press stuff seem very straightforward

8 days in april has tons of great stuff too, though he needs to archive, page takes forever to load and it'll crash you on a slow system

rapidshare is definitely the worst, though it's the only one I know of that keeps files up indefinitely

there are tons of sites...psychedelic cinamon being my current place to plunder..rapid ahare annoying, but really how much can you handle in a day
