CIO: gabbneb rushing in to whine about people picking on the upper-middle class

milo z, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 21:06 (seventeen years ago)

hahahahaha I immediately went to see what he put in the Leona Helmsley thread that prompted this, oops.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

cio: last day and i am STILL here. i still have 2 things left to finish up workwise and then move all my shit to my new desk (also cio them making me give up my office just because i'm only gonna be here 1 day a week when TEMPS get fucking offices these days but they're like 'oh you have to sit in a secretary desk because there are no offices'). this shit would all be done by now if i hadn't spent the last 3 hours babysitting/handholding new girl through very simple tasks.

CIO: get my box copy of BioShock....turn on 360....red ringz of DETH! : (

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 02:44 (seventeen years ago)

cio loading dishwasher full of two days' worth of cooking stuff and turning it on only to find the kitchen floor flooded and something I can't find blocking the drain. All the filter screens are clear, so it's something down the pipe and I have no idea what's in there so I'm afraid to use the drain snake in case there's like a delicate mesh or little plastic fins or something I could break.

Laurel, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

brutal, m@tt.

bnw, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 04:32 (seventeen years ago)

Trayce, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 09:04 (seventeen years ago)

remy bean, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 15:38 (seventeen years ago)

better for the environment than washing by hand

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 15:38 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but i hate the environment

max, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 15:41 (seventeen years ago)

wait, waht?

running the faucet the whole time, maybe, but filling a sink and washing that way?

river wolf, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 15:47 (seventeen years ago)

I am POSITIVE my dishwasher isn't better for the environ than doing by hand, it takes like AN HOUR to wash two sinks' worth of dishes. But we only run it like 3x per month so whatev.

Laurel, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 16:26 (seventeen years ago)

I helps the environment with LOTS OF TAKEOUT

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 16:29 (seventeen years ago)

I've never lived without a dishwasher. If you immediately wash everything with clean water, do you still have to use soap?

milo z, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 16:32 (seventeen years ago)

youre going to die

sunny successor, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 17:29 (seventeen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 23:30 (seventeen years ago)

CIO a friend being shitty about the fact that I don't want to house a stray kitten for two days when no one knows whether it has fleas, it hasn't been washed, and I won't be there to deal with it. Apparently cruelty to animals/my friends is "just (my) nature".

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:29 (seventeen years ago)

tell him/her to drop it at a shelter, feral cats in your house = DNW

bell_labs, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:33 (seventeen years ago)

She said if she can't find a home for it until Sunday, it will be killed. Jesus Christ, roommate already agreed, they're doing it over my objections. I really hate people sometimes.

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:34 (seventeen years ago)

rescuing cats is great and everything, but it takes a little more dedication than dumping them on your friends, wtf?!

also has she never heard of no kill shelters?

bell_labs, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:35 (seventeen years ago)

went through something like this lately. (un)fortunately the kittie (who was taken to a clinic, had like 5 major diseases/problems) ran off, so i didn't have to keep explaining that i can't have pets in my apartment, can't afford a kittie, etc.

also has she never heard of no kill shelters?

-- bell_labs, Thursday, August 23, 2007 8:35 PM (1 minute ago) Bookmark Link

most if not all of the no-kill shelters in nyc are full at the moment...

hstencil, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:37 (seventeen years ago)

barc is ALWAYS full. if anything, if you can, go get a kitty from there.

hstencil, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:37 (seventeen years ago)

To be fair she has rescued MANY animals over the years, in fact all of her 3-4 cats were rescues. She has the dedication, I just don't want to be involved. I don't really LIKE cats, plus 3rd roomie is out of town but v allergic. Hopefully all dander is gone before he gets back.

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:38 (seventeen years ago)

I asked "Has it been washed? Does anyone know whether it has fleas?" and she said "It's a STREET CAT, Laurel. NO, it doesn't have fleas."

...

Uh. Okay?

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:39 (seventeen years ago)

it'd be mad unfair and uncool to adopt a kittie without your roommates' approval, allergies or no.

hstencil, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:40 (seventeen years ago)

Ian should thank his stars he already HAS a cat, she originally called me for HIS number.

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:43 (seventeen years ago)

maybe you should just drop the cat off on the street, but in a nicer area?

bell_labs, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:44 (seventeen years ago)

I'm sure kitteh is totally totally adorable but I moved into this apartment largely because I was promised there would NEVER be cats allowed.

Laurel, Thursday, 23 August 2007 20:44 (seventeen years ago)

there is a library in wburg on devoe st that always has about 15 cats hanging around outside. they feed them, and they are all really chubby.
