vaporwave is starting to sound a lot like late 90s/early 2000s French house. wonder if it's the younger set's idea of nostalgia, which makes me feel a little old.

deep thoughts sounds the way i imagined all vaporwave sounding before i listened to any of it

i think most if not all of the sounds are from the same palette as the casio i had growing up

i'll invest some more time in it :)

seems like it would have to be. apparently, the crowd ambiance is actually field recordings by the producer, but not sure if music is too, or he found it elsewhere. If it was actually music he made and produced, that would actually raise this stuff to something pretty cool, like the bassist stuff posted above, but with ambient filtering
