gershy, Friday, 22 February 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

Out of the others, Sean Lennon obviously isn't up there with his dad, althogh I like "Saltwater", "Too Late For Goodbyes" and "Valotte".

Yes. Vocals on it are perhaps the best I've heard from any rock singer.

The Boards of Canada are overrated by WATMM posters aka aspie rube shutins who obsessively collect VST plugins and have approximately 6 artists in their music collection not on warp or astralwerks.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Sunday, 24 February 2008 21:51 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but when youre a mia/lcd/spoon/kanye dude you cant really talk shit about niche ambient dudes like that

and what, Sunday, 24 February 2008 21:56 (seventeen years ago)

they're all overrated...and i like them all!

latebloomer, Sunday, 24 February 2008 22:04 (seventeen years ago)

chaki, Sunday, 24 February 2008 22:25 (seventeen years ago)

not denying it's a pretty blatant look-at-my-record-collection pastiche!

latebloomer, Sunday, 24 February 2008 22:29 (seventeen years ago)

last night I got approached by some dude who was trying to sell people his self-produced bedroom hip hop record and his opening gambit was "do you like music?!?" thanks to ILX I was able to quickly quip "not since 1999"

dood. 'your love is king' slays a party if mixed into hiphop. she should put out an lp produced by dangermouse or timberlake/land.

Start w/ Dirty Dozen Brass Band, then maybe that SoulJazz comp of New Orleans funk. Lot of cross over I think. So far as current bands are concerned, not sure since the city barely exists anymore. Early Dr. John is worth checking too.

it seriously makes me want to weep at how great this is, this must have been how peasants in the 1600s felt when they went to venice and saw a michaelangelo or raphael for the first time... i mean, i want to call it the perfect summer song, and it is, but its unbelieavle at any time, its just a perfect song full stop
