There have been these YouTube productions for awhile where actors create these "looks real to me" type clips which sometimes go viral and sometimes do not. Classic example is the "I love cats!" lady:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTTwcCVajAc
It wasn't a real eHarmony ad. It was an actress putting on a goof. Nevertheless, even the most hardened Internet audience member (such as myself) had to ask at the time, "Well, maybe?"
(She's got some other funny videos. I like this one:)

Sometimes you want so badly for something to be real that you pretend to miss the signs that it's not. I posted this fedora clip to the fedora thread last night:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfOuJ93sIog
Turns out, we might just have a budding comedian on our hands! You all will like this one, it's eGamer Calum!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDsj3o9s8Cs
All of this leads up to the last example. I didn't want to post this after I first saw it because, boy, it's a bit raw. The primal scream of pain in this video, the abuse, the pathetic loner, the sadistic family members... I didn't feel right re-posting it for all my internet buddies even though I did watch the entire thing twice.

But wait... Rigid Studios?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AUoJXh4Q6U
Everything about this series rings true... the dog in the hallway, the shitty cozy Midwestern Americana wallpaper decor, the ceiling fans. But it's a put on. Right?

What are some more of these seem-so-real-but-they're-totally-fake videos on YouTube? Where are they going with this? Are they aiming to go viral? Do the production crews want people to think they're real? Are there any that are real?
You tell me.

the craziest thing i have witnessed lately is on the PS4 where people can have their own live video channels and they sit on their couch and respond to comments people have left online and they do this for hours as their family walks around behind them and yells and fights and goes about their business while this one family member stares at his t.v. on the couch and answers rude questions and you stare at them doing it. its the ultimate in...something. keep waiting to see a murder. but if you want to see tedious american drab in all its glory it's better than an arthouse doc. if only warhol had lived to see it.
sorry, this is not the same thing. didn't know where to mention it...

The "Angry German kid" video is as fake as that biography of "Leopold Slikk" is.

Back to Psycho Dad Breaks XBox in my op ... the framing used when Dad's truck pulls past the window at 1:01 is something that would be CGIed by a real studio.
I'm sorta glad that it's not a real family though. I think.
