the six or so sabra© flavors that my local publix stocks are okay, but i feel there's a vast utopia of hummus i'm missing out on.

Spent nearly $10 on a little tub of hummus in Moscow last month but some days nothing else will do.

I assumed, as an Israeli brand, Sabra would be better than your standard Brit supermarket hummus but it's quite thin and oily.

Will probably experiment with making a few different types from scratch next week.

Not really a hummus expert but I prefer the 'thin and oily' hummus and nothing else I've had from a store compares with Sabra

FWIW whenever I've had hummus at a restaurant it's tended toward the Sabra end

Could be I'm just going to shitty restaurants

this allrecipes page suggests there's a world of textures, colors and flavors beyond store-bought hummus, but my few experiences trying to duplicate internet recipes mostly leads to disaster, disappointment, then take-out food.
