A drunk uncle chopped up his 18-month-old niece then roasted her body parts in an oven, police said today. Andrey Gadzhiev's sister Elena Titova, 29, had left him caring for the toddler for 15 minutes while she visited a neighbour. When she returned there was no sign of the child and her intoxicated brother could not explain what had happened to her.

What I hate about them, much like Rob Thomas, is that Duritz's voice MAKES them MOR. He's like the anti-Fagen, whose voice IMO contrasts/complements nicely with all that Steely Dan sheen.
Duritz, instead, grounds everything in this horrible 'tastefulness' that is completely repellent IMO

In my experience depends what type of venue / engineer you're dealing with how into balanced xlr they are, maybe ask them what they prefer. Some places have lots of DI boxes they insist on using either way, others are very happy if you bring your own 1/4" to xlr cables. Might wanna check if the 1/4" output on your pad and stage mixer is actually balanced, if not they might insist on DI boxes.

Apples are my favourite of the tree fruits, followed by peaches— a good peach beats a good apple, but good peaches are rare; I’ve even more disappointing peaches than excellent ones
Most underrated fruit, for me, is the “European” cantaloupe— not the American version that ruins fruit salads everywhere, but the gorgeous flamed fruit that you get in Austrian markets

Gates of Steel was a song that I taped off the radio and the DJ didn't announce the name of. It was the late 80s; I was probably 10 or so. About five years later, I bought a copy of Freedom of Choice from a thrift shop, just as a gag because it had Whip It on it and they looked ridiculous on the album cover. I hadn't even read the song titles when I put it on the turntable, but when Gates of Steel came on, it was a moment of such elation and relief at finally finding that song.― peace, man, Friday, May 30, 2025 9:59 AM (one minute ago)
