Not with jarring bits that might harsh one's buzz, like AMT's "Universe Of Romance" if you know that one.

I feel like this is Ian Johnson/Scott Seward territory, a place I normally fear to tread!

HAWKWINDHAWKWINDHAWKWINDHAWKWINDHAWKFUCKINGWINDHAWKWIND

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 14 January 2005 22:07 (twenty years ago)

hawkwind is not hippie music! but they do FUCKIN RULE.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 14 January 2005 23:04 (twenty years ago)

side note: naming my first child Hawkwind, regardless of gender.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 14 January 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

Hawkwind is about as hippie as you can get.

The problem with this thread is this: We can probably all agree that the Grateful Dead and Hawkwind were hippies. But so what? Why would someone want to listen to hippie music PER SE? Were the Magic Band hippies? Were the Godz hippies? The Seeds? The Pink Floyd? It doesn't matter. The point is that there were literally hundreds of great psychedelic records from the '60s and early '70s and there have been hundreds of records that had something to do with psychedelia since then that are also great.
