No Gareth, No Bummed, BUT I do have the new Kasabian which I am reviewing. Here is what the NME has to say about Kasabian: "From Badge wearing indie-snobs to Ben Sherman-clad townies out for their biannual night of culture, EVERYONE likes Kasabian."

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

"The last time people made tunes like this, The Stone Roses were refusing to go on Wogan, and Shaun Ryder's face didn't look like it was moulded out of wet lard" sez Mixmag!

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

kasabian suck

From the Kasabian manifesto(!!!):

FLY THE FLAG

Join now and help us build the Kasabian movement. Do not be a passive member. Fly the flag at shows, wear your badge with pride, use your stencil. Being part of something means participation. Get involved.

BELIEVE

It doesn't matter what you believe in as long as you believe it. Creativity is overrated, integrity is everything.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

i once worked in a used book store and when someone wanted to send a book to a friend or relative in prison, they had to have the store send it. so, once someone had come in and wanted us to send some sci-fi paperback to someone in prison. someone else from the store packed it up and i had to take it to the post office. i'm walking down the street and i look at the name on it and OMG it was one of the manson girls! i can't remember which one now.

Okay, track number four is officially my favorite World Targets In Megadeaths song and not just because of the bad 808 State & Rakim samples either.

now i'm listening to:

[plive0409] Ihlenfeld - Live at Privatelektro Headphone Festival 2004

omg you're right i'm going outside to burn it RIGHT NOW

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 11 February 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

oh... one comment... if anybody is actually paying attention to what i list as listening content... don't uh... take that as a "msp seal of approval" since i started this free napster trial thing, i've listened to more idiotic shit than not. that polyvalent immedia album is AWFUL. or something. cheesy funk. then eno/wobble copies. then cheesy funk.

oh hey look... the killers album is on napster.

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

it's aight. an emusic thingy. i think probably not as good as them in person. not as good as other mouthus stuff i've heard so far, but sadly i haven't heard much.

thf tffthf!
m.

msp (msp), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:21 (twenty years ago)

i liked their cd and LP (Mouthus that is) -- nice scrambled scuzzy rock dredge.
listened to the new earth cd -- it aint like the old days, speaking of which, when the fuck is thrones (mr. preston) going to release another album?

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

when i talked to mr. preston last summer at his rockshow, he made it sound like not soon. he's doing things with high on fire these days i think... ddb confirm?
m.

msp (msp), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:25 (twenty years ago)

he is touring with high on fire, no? and, of course, he is on the new album.

right now i am listening to a moonspell album. before that an old relapse comp. before that an old Pit Magazine comp. before that a suburban voice zine hardcore comp from 2001. before that the death by blowjob singlesbox with bunnybrains/slugbait/voodoo muzak.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

JAH...he is touring and on the record...but sadly his presence isn't strong.

ddb (ddb), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:35 (twenty years ago)

he is also looking pretty "normal" now with short hair...last time I saw the thrones, he looked like scary mountain man living in spider hole.

ddb (ddb), Friday, 11 February 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

i've only seen him pre and post mountain man phases. in witchypoo he had shortish hair and same for the show last summer.

or was it the hat... ? i can't remember.
