most of the songs on the indonesian/java/bali/sumatra comps are classic songs in hyper-regional dialect. the songwriting credit (where the real money is in major publishing) is almost certainly fair-use, but the performance is another matter.

the backward question of ethics is pretty funny though considering the the massive bootlegging and piracy going on in some of those countries.
