THE ROGER ADULTERY APPRECIATION THREAD F/K/A I've just heard the best and most disturbing noise track I've heard all year

The intro to the new Otep album, a track called "Requiem." I really wish the whole album was like this. FUCKED UP!!

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 30 July 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

We really should've welcomed Roger.

dean? (deangulberry), Thursday, 5 August 2004 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

he's legit and not a denim-hawking poseur

Red Panda Sanskrit (ex machina), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I changed the thread title to reflect this sudden recognization of what Roger brings to the Noise board.

dean? (deangulberry), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

He has sweet eBay stories.

WHATS HIS BAND

dean? (deangulberry), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it's the blood group?

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Wooden Wand & The Vanishing Voice! It's also WIFEY's band! They are teh excellent, i thinks.

Rog has never steered me wrong when recommending REKKIDS.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:16 (twenty-one years ago)

WWVV

Red Panda Sanskrit (ex machina), Thursday, 5 August 2004 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

wow i had no idea this was going on. adorable!

Yes, we've moved - "Wifey" and I will be Tennesseans as of Sept 1. And I wish I could take credit for that adorbale nickname but i stole it from my friend Nasa.

Blood Group is on semi-permanent hiatus (though I believe there is to be a November tour with the great Langhorne Slim(e) and the also great Jeff Lewis). WWVV have many new records coming out and will be on tour at the end of this month with the great Davenport of Madison, WI.

The new Otep album indeed rules but the intro is best.

Thanks for the thread.

I saw LUKAS today when I was walking back from my NEW APARTMENT. He was riding his BIKE.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Saturday, 7 August 2004 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I"ve been hoping for good things from Otep. I liked "God Is A Gun" pretty well, but I thought they could do better.

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 7 August 2004 02:56 (twenty-one years ago)

lucas is crazy. His other band is called The Beatles.

o.nate - it's all about "Blood Pigs" and "Warhead"

he seemed nice but his politics were reprehensible

nazi bikini (harbl), Saturday, 19 August 2006 23:04 (nineteen years ago)

Hello, everyone. Just sitting here mildly drunk, thought I'd check this here board. It's nice to be missed. I lurk occasionally and post once in a while, but generally find myself too busy with travels and family to spend as much time here as I'd like.

While I'm here allow me to shamelessly plug my new label - Mad M0nk - for anyone who's interested. That's my Google-safe plug.

Not to open up a can of worms here, but nazi bikini, what are your 'politics?'

I'll check in here over the next few days to see how everyone's doin.' Love all around. xxRoj

Stormy Davis (diamond), Sunday, 20 August 2006 04:56 (nineteen years ago)

Drew Daniel (Drew Daniel), Sunday, 20 August 2006 05:32 (nineteen years ago)

need more roger on noise board pls

Yes, plz.

I really liked Backyard I and II. Dude.

Trick yr band into playing in Montana.

gbx (skowly), Sunday, 20 August 2006 05:46 (nineteen years ago)

Thanks for all the kind words, noise dudes.

Drew - I wish I could say I had more to do with how amazing that record turned out. Kurt's really something special. Glad you liked it!

gbx, I still have a few copies of Backyard Vol 3 if you want one. Montana, huh? We drove through there a few times but our booking person couldn't find us anywhere to play. Nice place though, and a pretty good militia there from what I've read.

Stormy, not sure which one you're talking about, but if it's "If The Jasmine Don't get You The Bay Breezes Will," it's about time, that record is life-changingly brilliant. A lot of his early stuff leaves me cold though, some of it sounds like the damn Kingston Trio or something.

Wand Milius (Roger Fidelity), Sunday, 20 August 2006 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

gbx, I still have a few copies of Backyard Vol 3 if you want one.

Absolutely!

gbx (skowly), Sunday, 20 August 2006 14:00 (nineteen years ago)

Awesome. That record RULES!

gbx, just email me your address (the one above is legit)

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Sunday, 20 August 2006 14:51 (nineteen years ago)

I mean the one below. This one.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Sunday, 20 August 2006 15:05 (nineteen years ago)

Just got it -- you're a quick one!

Thanks, dude!

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 24 August 2006 20:23 (nineteen years ago)

A+ on the wrapping paper, btw.
